How to annoy pagans and wiccans…the Code Pink way
Those morons in Code Pink are casting spells against the Marines in a protest. Do these pinheads realise what the regimes they are condoning do to non-Muslims unbelievers especially pagans. I am betting some of my conservative pagans mates will not be terribly happy. They get annoyed at the assumption that all pagans/wiccans are leftie tree-hugging loons.
With any luck the spells will backfire on the Code Pink loons…Code Pink toads anyone?
No commentsDemon on your shoulder
(This one is to pep Andrew up, seeing as it is somewhat paranormal)
This is the kind of news to pep you up in the morning and to look at the future with some hope. Unfounded as this hope might be.
A Colorado man reports he was able to kick his drug habit after a photograph of him at a relative’s anniversary celebration showed literally a demon on his shoulder.
Joe Martinez told Fox 31 News in Denver that drugs were killing his soul. But he’s now on the road to recovery because of the photograph. My dog literally pissed himself hearing this story, and I don’t even have a dog, being a cat person myself.
Now, Joe, the stories I can tell you about seeing things that will make your dog seem really tame in comparison: the spiders (multicolored), the lizards, the squishy and squiggly things that could not be even named… and not only on one’s shoulder – everywhere, my man, everywhere!
And the secret is: NEVER MIX YOUR DRINKS. Stick to the same stuff for the duration, and everything will be just peachy.
Your health!
No commentsHarry Potter imminent
I am sure that you are all well aware that there is a Harry Potter book about to drop, especially if you have been anywhere near a bookstore of late. Now I have read all of the books and even reviewed most of them for blogcritics.com In fact I seem to remember that I got quite a bit of flack from Harry Potter fans when I dared to suggest that the last one was not the best of the series. I thought Hermione came across as a bit one-dimensional. She is a great character and it would be a shame to see her shuffled out of the way.
Now like everyone else I am looking forward to the next instalment of the series as much as anyone else old. I am less enthusiastic about the movies, but then that is the case with any movie baring a very few. The Harry Potter phenomenon is quite amazing really and its great to see a book that gets so many children and adults reading. I am sure its rather rare at any time that there is a book that is so fondly read by both parents and children alike.
Naturally that has been blast back from a few of the more puritanical of Christians who want to ban children from reading the book on the grounds that there is suddenly a huge rise in people joining Wiccan groupings of varying types. And we get closer to the re-release of the next book there will be more of this sort of nonsense.
I am sure I will do, as I did last time, the same thing when I get the next novel. I will promptly sit down, TV off, and read the thing cover to cover in one sitting. Then I will rush to write a review and start to watch the fur fly.
2 commentsNatter with the dead?
I find the entire “chatting with the dead” industry a bit pathetic. The people who claim to do this are taking advantage of the suffering of those that have lost loved ones. Many of them speak in vague terms that allow the bereaved to latch onto whatever they are saying.
I see it highly unlikely that people, especially non-family members, can converse with the dead. I have never seen any evidence to proof such claims and I rather doubt I ever will.
People who peddle this should leave the bereaved alone with their memories and stop taking them for a ride. It makes for ghoulish television when done “for real” and amusing escapism when done fictionally.
In sense these people are cons who prey on the weak and weary, just like con-artists prey on the greedy.

I had my doubts, but this looks pretty conclusive.
Me elsewhere…
Marty has reviewed a cracking novel called The Black Order over at Blogcritics. I have also reviewed The Truth about Mohommad by Robert Spencer.

Torino’s occult secret
The Winter Games are happening in a town with a bit of an occult past…in the town square no less. They are known as the Gates of Hell. Fitting methinks as watching the Olympics is hellish in my not the slightest so humble opinion.
Thanks to Leo for the tip.

It’s not even the neighbour of the beast; it’s actually 50 numbers off. The true number of the beast is 616; according McGill University. Not as impressive is it? Happy Clappys everywhere will have to re-write all their rants against everything.
I found this important info over at Hard News; which site also features my buddy Martin Popoff, who incidentally has just published another book, this time on UFO 1 commentHaunted

These are interesting: Pictures that change as you walk by them. Very effective for Halloween parties and such, I would think, if a bit pricey—$75 for an 11×14” print, $19 for a 5×7”.

How do they work? Well it’s not a closely guarded trade secret. The effect is created by a lenticular lens mounted to a computer interlaced print. As the viewer changes perspective he sees a different part of the interlaced image, causing the image to shift. The entire effect is completely self contained and requires no power source.Read more 3 comments
An Honest Politician - Got Your Number!
Sir John grimaced and put down the plastic tumbler on the dressing table. He didn’t usually drink this early in the morning but this was to steady his nerves. It was a special day. He was going to make a speech to the Party Conference.
A veteran of such events, Sir John knew the format. It was to be the Tuesday afternoon slot. The Prime Minister would have spoken in the morning, just in time to catch the lunchtime news. By the afternoon, the media would be locked in combat with the Party’s spin doctors over how the PM’s message would be reported in the evening news slots. It was particularly important because it would be the last Conference speech by the PM before the expected General Election. There would be little interest in the speech of the newly appointed Minister for Community. Nevertheless, Sir John had been working on his speech until 3a.m. the previous night, refining the wording, polishing the soundbites, putting his phrases into groups of three. It was a textbook example of a speech, just as all politicians are taught to make by the legions of advisers, tutors and stylists that make a living moulding politicians.

This is my answer to the long question for my Witchcraft Degree final. It is about Witchcraft persecution in Europe.

Today I recieved my Diploma in Witchcraft Studies from the WICA institute.
Thanks to Leo Ruickbie and his staff for a wonderful learning experience.
Incidentally, there is an interesting article in the Speccie called We are all pagans now. It is actually a point I have been making for years, now.

Now comes the wait…
I have just sent off my final exam paper for my Degree in Witchcraft. I do hope it makes the grade.
When preparing to the take the exam I found great use in Leo’s Out of the Shadows: A Complete History of Witchcraft. It is refershing to read a book on wicca that is not tempered by political or sociological prejudices. If you are searching for a concise and easy-to-read book on Witchcraft then look no further. Of great use to me will be the excellent bibliography in the back of this work; I suspect I will be reading more on the subject soon.

The humourless wankers PC police have banned Halloween in an entire town in Washington State. They have banned it because it might offend wiccans. Funny thing is, Fox news can’t find any witches who are offended.

Comment: I have a strong and blunt message to all you Paganists, Satanists, atheists, skeptics, and ubelievers out there. You’re all being mislead by a deranged ex-archangel who is not only screwing with your sanity, but also your very souls in which he plans to drag you all to hell to burn for eternity along with HIS soul as well. So my message is THIS: GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HIM AND GO TO JESUS AND GOD WHILE YOU’RE ALL STILL ALIVE!!!!!!!
The Gathering Dark published!
PHD Press is proud to announce the release of our next book, The Gathering Dark, by Andrew Ian Dodge, which went on sale Friday, Oct 1, 2004.
Andrew Ian Dodge writes in the Cthulhu mythos, and does so in a way that manages to please long time fans of Lovecraft while still engaging the modern reader. Andrew’s works are often featured at Temple of Dagon, a site which works to keep fresh the worlds created by Lovecraft, and nurture those writers working there. Aleister, webmaster at Temple of Dagon, tells us that:
“Andrew Ian Dodge does what few modern authors can. He is able to write mythos tales which are not only appreciated by Lovecraft purists, but by fans of horror in general.”
Which brings us to our new offering, The Gathering Dark. This collection of four tales follows the continuing adventures of The Sage of Wales, a modern day Merlin (although that description is not one he would favor), who battles those who would try to bring eternal darkness to all of humanity by resurrecting Cthulhu, the Great Old One, from his uneasy slumber. Dodge brings Lovecraftian horror into the modern age of the internet and videogames without losing the brooding dread that marks the best of Lovecrafts works. Along the way, he explains just why it is that bureaucrats always seem to cause more problems than they correct.
The Gathering Dark is published in a trade paperback edition with a price of $12.95, and is available at www.phdpublishers.com, and coming soon to independent bookstores all across the Southeast.

PHD Press is a small press imprint of PHD Publishers LLC, specializing in short run publishing for genre authors. It is a family owned and operated business located in East Tennessee. 4 commentsA Pagan satan?
I know, some of you are saying “OH YEAH! Its about time someone said it” and others are saying “What the F?” But wait until I put this into perspective and it will all make sense.Read more 9 commentsWe all know, as “educated Pagans” that Satan is in fact an invention of Christian mythology. He exists simply because the all good deity Yahweh (Jehova if you prefer) needs a reason for evil to exist in the world. If a baby is born with defects: “Satan did it!” If a Christian minister is found with pornography: “Satan made me do it!” Catholic priests molest children: “It was the Devil!” If someone gets addicted to drugs: “Satan has him!”
In short, Satan is the cause of all the problems that plague “Good upstanding Christian folk.” They are not responsible for anything or anyone that goes awry; it is all “Satan’s” fault.
So it seems that modern Wicca has also found its Satan, it’s “Devil”, or if you prefer, its SCAPEGOAT for all that goes wrong with the followers of its doctrine. That is George Bush and “Corporate” America.
Quite…
Pagan paranoia
Thanks to idiotic paranoia of pagans those responsible for raping children have not been pursued. This is a disgrace and a travesty.

Occult paranoia going on this time in the SW of England. Pagan Prattle has the scoop in this case of the occult, knives, and swords in Cornwall. Of course, it is not like we are talking satanism, just a bunch of druids.
And for a more extreme example of anti-pagan bigotry, check out this death-threat recieved by a Pagan Conservatives list member.
