On Doughty Street tomorrow

April 12th, 2007 | Category: Press Appearances

I am appearing on 18 Doughty Street on Friday the 13th I wonder if there is any coincidence. It will be interesting to discuss this week’s various debacles including I suspect the non-heroic Navy types and whether or not a minister will have to go because of it. Anyway if you are free Friday evening have a gander in the late evening to see what befuddles Iain this time.

Last evening’s events…

March 06th, 2007 | Category: Press Appearances

Things were most interesting yesterday what with a Labour blogger sticking his foot in it and declaring Lady T dead when she wasn’t. First things first, I attended a rather good event sponsored by the ASI on new media vs old. It was a cracking event with some of the usual faces and some people who were a wee bit behind the times.

A few highlights for me were telling Stephen Shakespeare that Anti-Anti-American advert was the talk of the Liberty Forum only slightly trumped by Rep Ron Paul and his presidential run. I rather enjoyed it when he said that I looked like Guido should look like in real life. The third thing that was fun was when I was able to correct the notion held that you “cannot make money from blogging.” Yes, of course, you can’t make a living from blogging but you can make money from your blog, at least enough to pay for its upkeep.

Then it was off to a three hour session on the couch at 18 Doughty Street where we say Iain Dale getting steadily more perturbed as the night went on and things got more odd. For some reason my declaration of support for Icelandic whaling and desire to eat whale meat rather bemused some. Then it was Iain’s turn to get flumoxxed by a viewer. Obviously a reader of my blog and reviewing past Anarki asked if I liked Slayer. It was a wonderful bit of bizarre live TV. By the end of the evening even some 18 Doughty Street denizens could not resist a few prods at Iain. We all, the guests, enjoyed ourselves and considering the emails/MSNs the audience did as well. I even managed to hand a rough demo of my crack at a theme-song to the rather amusing 18DSTV camera lady.

A good evening of schmoozing and nattering I must say.

Update: Blogger TV is up here just look for the pic of Maggie.

Update II: Not only are Iain’s beloved West Ham almost certain to go down but no their crowd is in trouble for racist chants.

Update III: Jeff Jarvis has noticed 18DS and written a long post on the subject. Thanks to Lance for the tip.

Tonight’s Lagwolf & Lair show

February 04th, 2007 | Category: Lagwolf & Co Show, Press Appearances

Here is the link to our next show which will feature a representative from a group that I refered to as terrorist in a past show. The show is being recorded and will be broadcast into SL via our new partners at Crystal Clear Media. Expect an exciting show and join us for the next stage of Lagwolf & Lair rise to fame and fortune.

NB: You will be able to hear the recorded version of the show on the network’s website. You will not have to be in SL to hear it.

Oh yes and I am heading off to Doughty Street on Thursday for yet another appearance. So catch me on 18 Doughty Street from 22-2300 gmt.

Please head over to 100 Word Challenge and vote for my tale. Second place last week really irked me.

You want to see what the Patriotic Nigras get up to…here is a video of one of their attacks.

You can listen 8pm GMT & 3pm EST by following this link.

Doughty Street on Newsnight

January 30th, 2007 | Category: Press Appearances, The Media/BBC idiocies, UK Politics

Until 10:30 tonight you can see Tim Montgomerie on Newsnight defending 18 Doughty Street new series of campaign adverts in the lead up to the next election. The advert featured is the rather amusing one based on taxation and how it affects daily life. Tim seems to be using his appearances on Doughty Street rather well and came across quite professionally on Newsnight this time. Here is the advert that was featured on Newsnight.

Speaking of which you can now see my latest appearance on Doughty Street here.

Doughty Street with a bit of Scooter

January 25th, 2007 | Category: Press Appearances, Scooter Libby Trial

Last night I did a couple hour appearance on Vox Politix on 18 Doughty Street and it was the normal pleasure to inhabit their sofa during Vox Politix and the End of the Day Show. I was able to compliment Iain on their new site and design. It was a pleasure to find out that I was sharing the couch with Brian of Samizdata.com fame as well as an A-lister (who seemed purturbed there is no longer an A-list). Not terribly surprisingly Brian and I very much agreed on things except maybe his choice of classical music. I do hope they manage to get the show(s) up on Watch Again so I can see how I did. We managed to chat about the Scooter Libby Trial during the blogging part of End of Day Show. It was pleasing to hear that at least one of their viewers was following the trial and chipping in via MSN.

On Doughty Street again…

January 24th, 2007 | Category: Press Appearances, Scooter Libby Trial

The lads & laddetes at 18 Doughty Street finally have their new website up for your perusal. Its a bit delayed but seems to be worth the wait for both the channel and the rest of us. I am appearing on their couch from 10-12 this evening to their live feed as both part of Vox Politix and the End of the Day Show. So if you have the time please have a gander and tell me what you think (as you always do). I will perusing the blogs to see what is getting their goats to discuss on the show. I will endeavor to get the Scooter Libby Trial discussed as it has not got much coverage on this side of the pond yet. For those of you on this side of the pond wonder what the fuss is about here is the MBA round-up.

Links and thoughts

January 22nd, 2007 | Category: Assorted links, Blog gos, Lagwolf & Co Show, Press Appearances

First up there is a place open on the Watchers Council do you think you are hard enough to take the challenge and become a watcher? Tim Worstall has the Britbloggers round-up for your perusal and the Dogs are howling for another week.

The Lagwolf & Lair show was the best yet last night both technically and professionally. Lair & I did a 30 minute sketch featuring a world leader from another planet. We also had a good chat with Second Life entreprenuer Interlib, who also runs the International Libertarian site. Many thanks to Jason for another good job of producing the show.

This week I am doing another appearance on 18 Doughty Street from 10-12 this Wednesday.

Oh yes and this Sunday in addition to the Lagwolf & Lair show…Lagwolf & Lair are delivering lecture in Second Life next Sunday at 4 est at the PodCamp Unconference. Or as we put it in the program.

Lagwolf and Lair (Lagwolf Gloucester and Crap Mariner) – Demonstration of power of Skypecasting for live events and comedy pieces, expanding the interview format, archiving Skypecasts as podcasts, collaborative tools for trans-Atlantic projects, etc.

And those of you that were listening to last night’s show might be interested in the site mentioned by interlib about the SL terrorist organisation Patriotic Nigras in the Encyclopedia Dramatica.

Shire News Network has an interview with Mark Steyn that is in two parts over the next two weeks. Marty’s review of Steyn’s book can be found here.

My colleague on the Lagwolf & Lair and fellow ex-SNNer Laurence has made the 5th round of the Podcast Pickle story contest. Go have a listen and then Vote Lair.

Oh yes and there is a new Haveil Havalim.

I hope you can make it and that Skypecast remains as stable as it was last week. All you need to listen is a copy of Skype on your computer. We take questions and comments via the chat function in Skype and in Second Life at the Gimme Liberty bar.

Oh yes and I have another tale in the weekly challenge…this time on the naff subject of illegal parking.

January 06th, 2007 | Category: Lagwolf & Co Show, Podcast, Press Appearances

So head over here and listen. We will be live on air this Sunday from 8pm UK time/3pm est. We are planning to have a couple of guests and will speak about statist idiocies of the last few weeks.

Speaking of doing media. I am doing 18 Doughty Street next Wednesday from 10-12 pm.

My lyrics about my mention in The Business made it into the Music Carnival.

Oh yes and Laurence has a done a Wiki on 100 word tales to which I am frequent contributor. If you wish you can vote for my latest entry right now. And unusual for me the subject matter is a kiss!

And have a listen to Matt Fitzgibbon’s stuff at Patriot Music.

Get yer arse over and vote Lair ,let’s make the poor bastard suffer through another round!

And while you are at it, head over to 100 words tale and vote for my tale the competition needs a decent subject for a change.

Lagwolf & Lair show

December 17th, 2006 | Category: Lagwolf & Co Show, Politics, Press Appearances

Tune in this evening for the next episode of the Lagwolf & Lair show starting at 8pm gmt/3pm est. This week we have a few interesting things to chat about including the sitting Prime Minister of Great Britain getting interview by the police and various other things. We will have news from the electronic world and the physical world. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out as per normal.

The other bit of press I am doing is the my next appearance on 18 Doughty Street this Thurs for the last couple of hours. Needless to say even 18 Doughty Street will be loath to stick me on afore the 9 o’clock watershed lest I scare the kiddies that might be watching. Despite the late hour and the various degree of success getting home; I do rather enjoy sitting on the couch and havin’ a natter about what is going on the political world.

BTW I have actually won the weekly challenge for a change on Rehab. Pete Doherty showed up for good measure.

My former podcast home at SNN has their end of year show with Andrew Roberts interviewed.

Show notes…

December 11th, 2006 | Category: Lagwolf & Co Show, Press Appearances

First of all, I would like to remind all of you that I am doing the last two hours of programming this evening on 18 Doughty Street. What is nice with the channel is that if you miss the show(s) you can always watch it again with their “watch again” function.

Last night we had a good show over at Skypecast. We chatted about various subjects regarding freedom in the world including chatting about Sen Snowe’s behaviour with Lance Dutson and Kami. A listener raised the important issue of Britons and their self-defence in the wake of the gun-grabbing and other criminal empowering legislation in this country. Funny enough First Post has a piece on how rural Britons are taking steps to defend themselves including purchasing crossbows.
