LASIK Laser Eye Surgery
Would You Like to See the World
Without Glasses or Contact Lenses?

Wouldn’t it be grand to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses? Millions of people have had LASIK laser eye surgery to improve their vision. It is a popular surgical procedure with a high success rate that can improve your quality of life. If you are tired of glasses or annoyed by contact lenses, LASIK eye surgery may be for you. No matter whether you are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism, LASIK is a quick ten-minute procedure that can improve your vision. But not everyone will benefit from LASIK, and you should know that LASIK is a medical operation.

What Is LASIK Laser Eye Surgery

LASIK is eye surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The surgery is performed by an ophthalmologist using a laser. About three million procedures are performed each year. LASIK is an acronym that stands for Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis.

Vision defects are caused by irregularities in the cornea, the clear front covering of the eye. This changes how the cornea focuses light coming into the eye. LASIK eye surgery can correct these vision defects by reshaping the cornea. LASIK eye surgery cannot correct presbyopia, so people over 40 will still need glasses for reading.

During LASIK, a flap is cut in the outer part of the cornea and folded back. Then an Excimer laser is used to reshape your cornea. The laser does not burn or cut, but instead vaporizes the underlying tissue of the cornea. The layer of tissue removed may be only ten micrometres thick. Next, the flap is laid back in place and the eye heals.”

Collect Paper Money for Fun and Profit

Paper money is an exciting collectible. The value of paper money to collectors is much more than its face value printed on the paper. Collectors value paper money for its historical value, outstanding engravings, colors and art. Paper money is a kind of negotiable instrument, a promissory note made by a bank payable to the bearer on demand, used as money. We refer to paper money as a bill, a banknote, currency or simply a note. The study and collecting of paper money and all substitutes for money is called notaphily, whether the money is printed on paper, plastic, cloth, wood, or leather. Notaphily is to paper money collecting as numismatics is to coin collecting and philately is to stamp collecting.

How to Start Collecting Paper Money

There is much help for collectors of paper money. The connectivity of the Internet has made buying, selling and collecting easier. And reliable price guides have been compiled. The most effective way to get paper money is not through general circulation, but through dealers, collectors, auctions, and shows. You’ll find information in periodicals, reference books and collecting associations. The Professional Currency Dealers Association PCDA, is a trade association of about 125 national dealers who buy and sell paper money. The International Bank Note Society publishes a quarterly journal. The Society of Paper Money Collectors SPMC is a national group of collectors both expert and novice that provides information, research and promotion. The society publishes an award-winning bi-monthly journal Paper Money, and sponsors paper money shows around the country.

How Collectors Date Paper Money

The date that appears on all United States paper money is the year when the engraving design was first approved. For example, all $1 United States Notes of Series 1880 were printed from 1880 until 1917. These bills all have the date 1880, and are identified as the 1880 Series, even though they could have been printed anytime over 37 years. On notes since 1928, a letter is added to the series number whenever a small change in the design is made. For example, you might see a $1 bill in Series 2003A.”

Sam presents New !! How to Pay for College posted at Surfer Sam and Friends, saying, “Thanks for including my article. Here’s an excerpt…

How to Pay for College
Smart Ways to Pay for Your College

Did you know that the average cost for tuition and room and board is $32,000 at a private college? Some Ivy League schools charge more than $40,000 each year. At a public college the annual cost is over $13,000. Your college costs include the tuition, fees for labs, athletics and activities, and room and board on campus. You’ll also pay for textbooks and supplies, computers, software and a printer, phone, transportation, personal expenses like laundry, clothes, and haircuts. Some of you will pay for sorority or fraternity fees or apartment rental if you live off-campus. Suddenly, your college costs seem astronomical. However, more financial aid is available now to help you pay for college, so few families have to pay the whole amount out of pocket.

In the long run, a college education pays for itself. Not only does college open up better career opportunities, and reduce unemployment. There are also indirect benefits of college that continue throughout your life. Studies show that college has a positive influence on health, community participation and sense of satisfaction. A college education is a wise investment.

Grab Financial Aid to Pay for College

Seventy percent of all college students receive some financial aid. Financial aid comes from many sources to help you pay for college. There are grants and scholarships which give you college money clear and free, that never has to be repaid. There are work-study programs at each college, with good pay with part of your earnings paid for by the federal government. The money you earn on a work-study program is entirely yours, and is never repaid. Student loans are money you borrow to pay for college and must repay after graduation.”

Famous Baseball Players and Their Teams
The Heroes, the Stars and the Stats

Baseball has a long tradition of excellence. The game of baseball was begun by Abner Doubleday in 1939, when he outlined a diamond-shaped field in the dirt and designated bases, a pitcher and a catcher. Doubleday went on to become a general in the Civil War. Baseball went on to become the great American pastime. We spend summer at the baseball stadium, cheering on their favorite teams. Or we watch on television. Baseball stars became our childhood heroes. As we grew up, they were our role models.

The game itself is simple, calling for nine players, three strikes and three outs. The bases are ninety feet apart, the baseballs made of leather and twine, and the bats constructed of wood. Although the rules of the game never seem to change, the game has a life of its own.
[famous baseball players and their teams] The Famous History of Baseball
[famous baseball player ted williams] The history of baseball is an interesting story in itself. Early teams all wore the same color uniforms and distinguished themselves by their stocking color. In the late 1880s, catchers wore a wire face guard modeled after a fencer’s mask. They used handmade leather balls called “lemon peel” balls because of the stitching pattern.

The first World Series was played in 1903.

The theme song of baseball “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” was written in 1908 by Jack Norworth, who wrote it while riding a subway train. His words were set to music by Albert Von Tilzer. Neither of them had actually seen a baseball game. The song is often played at baseball games during the Seventh Inning Stretch.

In 1914 and 1915, the eight-team Federal League tried to establish an independent professional league in competition with the American and National Leagues. After the 1915 season, half of the Federal teams were bought out by American and National League owners.
