best of me symphony, blog carnival.
A couple of other carnivals that might strike your fancy include Haveil Havalim and the Britblog one. Oh yes and there is a nice selection of tales over at the Storyblogging Carnival. Oh yes there is a new SNN with Mark Steyn.
No commentsSack Michael Vick
Considering how many different groups there are on Facebook both anti and even pro Michael “Dog fighting” Vick it is no surprise that someone has made a site campaigning for sacking. Its has a round-up of petitions and other information in the campaign to get this guy kicked out of pro-football. What is involved with, which he claims to know nothing about, is a federal crime and considering how many dogs they found on his estate he should go away for a long time.
4 commentsMmmmmmm, ‘Rain Magic’
PAGANS have pledged to perform “rain magic” to wash away cartoon character Homer Simpson who was painted next to their famous fertility symbol – the Cerne Abbas giant. The 17th century chalk outline of the naked, sexually aroused, club-wielding giant is believed by many to be a symbol of ancient spirituality.
Many couples also believe the 180ft giant, which is carved in the hillside above Cerne Abbas, Dorset, is an aid to fertility.
A giant 180ft Homer Simpson brandishing a doughnut was painted next to the well-endowed figure today in a publicity stunt to promote The Simpsons Movie released later this month.
The lads at b3ta have their own take on it. Warning: Possibly NSFW.
Another tie-in to the Simpsons movie: This game, where Homer (you, using the arrow keys) attempts to free his family by smashing a police car with a wrecking ball. In theory, anyway—the only thing I succeeded in smashing was Homer himself. Sound effects.
3 commentsRound-ups…
As its July 4th week, there will be little in the form of round-ups. Britbloggers are unaffected by this holiday so have theirs up. There is a nice selection in this fortnight’s Storyblogging Carnival for fiction fans.
SNN have an interview with Nick Cohen in their latest edition.
Comments are off for this postA few interesting pieces…
Betwixt logistics and watching the appalling weather outside and in Boston. I have stumbled on a couple of good articles. One called The Silencing which deals the Islamic Society of Boston’s censoring tactics.
The other one is more fun and about a band who is getting somewhere using online promotion methods that I have tried with my band.

Oh yes and pop over for a read of Marty’s latest set of reviews.
2 commentsDem links
Well there is a rather unusual for host for the Britblog Carnival and one whose has gotten some flack for her fans for posting it. Carnival of Vanities is up for your consideration over with Silflay’s. Come back here for more carnivals that might catch my eye. If you want yours included here sent us an email. And there is a good SNN interview with Sandmonkey with some nice Martin “saying all Americans are morons is really funny” Brigstocke bashing from Brian.
Comments are off for this postA few good links…
First of all there is a new SNN. There is a great JCast podcast with an interesting piece on the Israeli entry to Eurovision. As always there are doggy /archives/006560.html”>links for canine lovers. And, we have the round-up for Britbloggers at Liberal England. They are few but quality, the Storyblogging Carnival.
Do you disagree with sudden withdrawl from Iraq? Well this PAC wants you to help oppose those who do.
Oh yes, me ole’ rock mucker Mitch Benn has got a create song mocking John Lennon’s ghastyly dirge ‘Imagine, on this week’s Now Show. There are some who consider this blaphemy in extremis, although it has to be said it would not number any libertarians among that group.
Comments are off for this postNew listing service…
A new web listing service where you literally get what you pay for. Its called Big Web Links Directory and it allows you to do all kinds of things to your link to make sure you get as high a listing as you want. This gives sites that are newer a chance to get noticed as soon as they exist. Head over and take a look…see if its the right thing for your site. This post is sponsored.
BOMS curt & links
A fairly short BOMs this week but all worthwhile none the less. Enjoy the dusty goodness.

SNN this week has the first part of their interview with former-Muslim/Allahpundit responsible for House of Apostasy.
1 commentNew week links
The Carnival of the Dogs is first up quickly followed by Haveil Havalim.
And there is a new set of tales in the weekly challenge mine didn’t manage to make it in time. SNN, sans Brian of London but with Laurence, has an interesting interview with someone who has riled the left and Islamists of Australia.
There is a Britblog round-up at Poons. Silfay has the newest CoTV. There is the Carnival of the Welsh bloggers to enjoy.
Oh yes and we have a nice daft quiz. This one rather shocked me it has to be said.
Via: Simply Jews
Oh speaking of Jews, there is this little bit of info from Nice. It seems they have retained their bans on Jews living in certain areas.
One more quiz via < href="http://graymonk.mu.nu/">Grey Monk:

First of all Tim links to this challenge and I duly oblige. As with Tim I will let you perfuse my archive to see what I got wrong.
Good interview with Presidential Candidate Tom Tancredo at Elliotblog.
Mediankritik has found yet another attempt by Stern to create a violent trend in the US that actually doesn’t exist. Curiously others have pointed that the actual violent crime rate in the US has gone down, one wonders how well they German’s are doing at keeping their crime in check.
Speaking of Germans and their history, AgentAzure explains why he is at the horns of dilemma over Holocaust Denial laws that exist in certain countries with a penchant for genocide.
Speaking of all things Islamist, there is a rather good, SNN this week. There is a bloke from the Hudson Institute slagging off bloggers which might get some good replys. Oh yes and Tom Paine has a good go at Dean Esmay and his Buckley complex.
On a much lighter not I have yet another tale in the weekly challenge. Your ears and votes would be much appreciated.
There is a Storyblogging Carnival up for some sheer escapism. And, of course, a COTV for those in search more links.
Finally there is some really sad news…a leading light in the No2ID and an occasional commenter Chris Lightfoot has died.

Care of the lovely people at Carol Cil. The site will have a bit of tweaking over the next few days so be aware. I do rather like the new look as it has quite a bit of gravitas methinks.
Oh yes and a few other things. Another week, another challenge this time on a steaming pile. There is another dog carnival for those who are fans of the canine. Naturally Tim rounds up the Britblogs.
Someone has a deathwish you might think? Well it seems organising a marathon will get you killed in Pakistan as will flying a kite.
Oh and I know someone in This is England (hint he is going to be my brother-in-law)...check out the film trailer.
Comments are off for this postLinkage: Lagwolf & Lair et al
Lagwolf & Lair show goes live at 8pm/3st tonight via this link. Come join us for a bit of liberty and freedom chat on a winter’s Sunday evening. And, of course, Laurence & I are doing a lecture in Second Life at the Unconference at midnight UK time.
Tim is out of gate first with his britblogger round-up. Posties are getting in on the carnical act with their own.
Meanwhile Kesher Talk has an interesting insight to the Christian Zionist movement. Let’s just say that Judith is a less than impressed.
David has a nice comparison to the treatment of Saddam to that Honecker over at Medienkritik.
Paranoia…self destroya Lebanon style. Of course, you can read all about Davos over at Davos Conversation. Oh yes and the BBC is doing a bit of censoring of `their discussion groups
Oh yes and Laurence has made the finals of the Podcast Pickle contest…listen to his plea for your mate.
And if you are voting, how about popping over and give a listen and a vote for my latest challenge piece: this piece features the talent of Kim with me.
If you want to read some music reviews head over to Marty’s Musical Meltdown.
Comments are off for this postLinks and thoughts
First up there is a place open on the Watchers Council do you think you are hard enough to take the challenge and become a watcher? Tim Worstall has the Britbloggers round-up for your perusal and the Dogs are howling for another week.
The Lagwolf & Lair show was the best yet last night both technically and professionally. Lair & I did a 30 minute sketch featuring a world leader from another planet. We also had a good chat with Second Life entreprenuer Interlib, who also runs the International Libertarian site. Many thanks to Jason for another good job of producing the show.
This week I am doing another appearance on 18 Doughty Street from 10-12 this Wednesday.
Oh yes and this Sunday in addition to the Lagwolf & Lair show…Lagwolf & Lair are delivering lecture in Second Life next Sunday at 4 est at the PodCamp Unconference. Or as we put it in the program.
Lagwolf and Lair (Lagwolf Gloucester and Crap Mariner) – Demonstration of power of Skypecasting for live events and comedy pieces, expanding the interview format, archiving Skypecasts as podcasts, collaborative tools for trans-Atlantic projects, etc.
And those of you that were listening to last night’s show might be interested in the site mentioned by interlib about the SL terrorist organisation Patriotic Nigras in the Encyclopedia Dramatica.
Shire News Network has an interview with Mark Steyn that is in two parts over the next two weeks. Marty’s review of Steyn’s book can be found here.
My colleague on the Lagwolf & Lair and fellow ex-SNNer Laurence has made the 5th round of the Podcast Pickle story contest. Go have a listen and then Vote Lair.
Oh yes and there is a new
To visit
The dogs have their day as do those of us who are Britbloggers. Those guys over at the Adam Smith Blog have their own link fest of things that catch their eye. For something completely different why not head over to the Haveil Havalim the Jewish carnival. Then there is the Postie carnival.
And, of course, there SNN who have got off their arses and done a new episode.
I have published my first piece over at Agoravox just to see what its like.
Comments are off for this postBOMS trundles on

Comments are off for this postLinks for this week…
Just because its the dead space between the two holidays does not mean that the various link fests are not still ongoing. The latest Carnival of the Vanities is up as well as the latest Carnival of the Dogs. You can always head over and have a listen to the latest Dodging Reality (on iTunes) or via its iWeb page. There is still stuff out there in this normally rather dead time of the year if you know where to look. Lagwolf & Lair show will return the first Sunday of the new year.
Comments are off for this postDUI lawyer…
You go to San Diego, forget you have to drive, get hammered and drive home only to get busted. Wouldn’t it be good to know a DUI attorney in the area? This San Diego DUI Lawyer even has helpful tips on his site for what to say or do when it happens. And the advice on his site is free, not exactly something that happens too often when involving a lawyer. So head over and check him out…hopefully reminding yourself that you should never need him.

This week’s BOMs is up Owners Manual. The gun lovers have got their Carnival going well at Gullyborg. But first off the block is Tim with his Britblogger round-up.
Doc Rampage hosts the storyblogging carnival... he has requested that I write a few longer tales.
CoTV is up at Spooky Action; the last before new rules are coming into force.
And Dissident Frogman has an interesting piece about a French warmonger.

Here’s an easy way to add a fully-functional Google map to your blog or webpage. Why you would want to do that I don’t know. It’s your blog, after all, and one day you’ll have to answer to your spouse and/or God about it.
Click here, then on the red WikiMapia button at the upper right of the page, then on the “Map on
your page” dropdown option. A box will appear that you can drag to the location that
you want (you can zoom in to the maximum resolution and also resize the borders to
whatever rectangular shape you like). Cut and paste the HTML code into your page and there you go.
It’s unnatural, I tell you. If we were meant to study roofs from such a height, we
would have been equipped with stilts.
Warning: Music and sound effects. It’s a quite large QuickTime file, so you might want to let it buffer for a few seconds before clicking the Play button.
Take a look at Mesothelioma Medical
http://www.mesotheliomamedical.com is a site full of resources for those with Mesothelioma a form of cancer.
Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that develops in the tissues of cells that line the lungs, heart and stomach.
Your tanning needs handled…
If you are into tanning then Future Industries have all that you will need from Tanning Beds to even Swedish tanning supplies. Go check em’ out if like a bit of bronze in your life.
Pong Pong Pong
This commercial for American Express, featuring Andy Roddick, is from a while ago judging by the comments on the YouTube forum. However, it’s just appeared on Canadian TV, in support of the Rogers Cup next month in Toronto. Pretty imaginative, if I do say:
Or you can play it as a game (press the keyboard “3” key for the 3D version).
Or you might remember this from a few days ago. The same guy gave Pong the pixilation treatment. (Yes, yes, he should have had the “paddles” on the sides, moving up and down, with the “ball” travelling horizontally. But he didn’t. Flip your monitor on its side if you’re such a purist.)
Comments are off for this postWeek’s stuff to look at…
First of all the Society of Individual Freedom’s latest PDF mag is out.
FTTW is about to have the final between the best of Punk of the decades.
Tim’s hosts the Britbloggers for this week. And there is a collection of Best of at Owner’s Manual. Spank the Monkey hosts the Carnival of Cordite. We got a Storyblogging Carnival for you as well. Carnival of the Vanities appears for the week over at Accidental Verbosity. Its the Acidman Memorial Edition.
Oh and Pagans need to represented too.
There is an SNN up for the week hosted by Dodging Reality alum Brian of London.
Dissident Frogman is back and has a few things to say about Israel.
Comments are off for this postHere’s The Story
Yellow Submarine
in the town where I was born
lived a man who sailed to sea
and he told us of his life
in the land of submarines
There doesn’t seem to be much of a point to this, but it is beautifully done. There’s a (somewhat yellowish) submarine and two islands and some sea creatures, and no secret passages or magic buttons that I can find.
So I’m guessing that it’s just a one-off project by some flash programmer exercising his chops.
Showoff.
(Note: There’s music and regular sonar “pings,” which may not be suitable for your office. Unless you work in an office equipped with sonar, like, say, in a submarine, in which case probably nobody will notice.)

If I had epilepsy, I wouldn’t be clicking on this. I’m just sayin’.
After that, you might want to relax with this, which is a Tetris-like game with one of those confusing dimensions removed. I think that with enough patience, you should be able to rack up some truly impressive scores.
