The blunt title is not just an attention getter for this book, but a statement of fact. Butler truly describes how bad things have gotten in the UK under current Labour government led by Gordon Brown. While many of the problems began under Blair he explains how they have accelerated under the current Prime Minister.

Update: Not surprisingly Newsnight doesn’t think that one of the Britain’s be known and most respected think tanks having a new book out is a matter for their concern. Funny enough when I had a think-tank paper (for the UK’s oldest) published the BBC was just as uninterested. The Politics show isn’t bitting either. But, of course, the BBC is unbiased and does not take a certain line on any matter now does it?

Might I suggest that readers in UK might drop Robbie Gibb a line about their “oversight”.
