Zombies = Islamists?

January 31st, 2009 | Category: Movies, ROPMA, Terrorism

I was having a thought. Since Hollywood frowns on making any type of Muslim the villan are film-makers using zombies instead? After all like Islamists, zombies are unthinking in their desire to kill everyone not like them, they can’t be reasoned with (though people try) and they unrelenting in their hatred for humanity. Most of all they are perfectly capable of killing themselves to further their overall quest to kill as many not like them as possible.

Update: There is going to be a movie called Zombies of Mass Destruction about an army of them coming out of the Middle East.

Stroppy muso brat alert…

January 29th, 2009 | Category: Bloody insane stuff, Music

The frontman of cult indie band Silver Jews, David Berman, has announced that he has split up the band, which he originally formed with Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich of Pavement in 1989, cancelling all forthcoming tour dates, so that he can devote his time to telling the world how much he hates his dad.

This is not just teenage rebellion (not least because Berman is 42). His father is Washington-based lobbyist Richard Berman, described by US TV documentary series ‘60 Minutes’ as “Dr Evil”, and who has fought against consumer, animal welfare and environmental groups in the interests of his clients in the food, alcohol and tobacco markets.

Writing on the Silver Jews message board, Berman Jr said: “Now that the Joos are over I can tell you my gravest secret. Worse than suicide, worse than crack addiction: My father. You might be surprised to know he is famous, for terrible reasons. My father is a despicable man. My father is a sort of human molester. An exploiter. A scoundrel. A world historical motherfucking son of a bitch (sorry Grandma)”.

He continued: “A couple of years ago I demanded he stop his work. Close down his company or I would sever our relationship. He refused. He has just gotten worse. More evil. More powerful. We’ve been ‘estranged’ for over three years. … He props up fast food/soda/factory farming/childhood obesity and diabetes/drunk driving/second hand smoke. He attacks animal lovers, ecologists, civil action attorneys, scientists, dieticians, doctors, teachers. His clients include everyone from the makers of Agent Orange to the Tanning Salon Owners of America. He helped ensure the minimum wage did not move a penny from 1997-2007!”

Speaking about his decision to change his career, the musician said: “This winter I decided that the SJs were too small of a force to ever come close to undoing a millionth of all the harm he has caused. To you and everyone you know. Literally, if you eat food or have a job, he is reaching you. … Previously I thought, through songs and poems and drawings I could find and build a refuge away from his world. But there is the matter of justice. … The desire for it actually burns. It hurts. There needs to be something more. I’ll see what that might be”.

You can read more about Richard Berman here.

This tale of an idiotic far left spoiled brat brought to you by CMU.

I am guessing he refused to take advantage of all the proceeds of his dad’s work when he was young.

NB: Italics mine…

Songsmith

January 29th, 2009 | Category: Gnotalex, Music

The latest craze is using Microsoft’s Songsmith (download a trial version here) to remix famous songs. Basically you sing into it and the software builds the chord progressions to match the melody and the rhythm to fit the style (rock, blues, jazz, etc.)

In the example below, someone isolated Sting’s vocal track from the song “Roxanne” and set it to what sounds like . . . cruise ship calypso? That’s not as much of a musical stretch as it initially might seem. Most people would describe the original as “reggae,” and it does have some similarities to that style, notably Andy Summers’ choppy guitar chords. But Sting originally wrote the song to a bossa nova beat and changed it to a tango at drummer Stewart Copeland’s suggestion. Wikipedia.

It just fits with my theory that, given sufficient amplification, all musical genres approach cosmic oneness and/or cause the (real) police to be summoned.

Pitchfork has some other examples from the likes of Radiohead, Van Halen and The Doobie Brothers. Or if you have the time (and stomach) for it, here are numerous other examples on YouTube.

I think I’ll pick up a copy of the software — it’s only 30 bucks and I’ve spent a lot more for things that aren’t half the fun.

Allergies are an abnormal response of the immune system. The immune system is your body’s defense against germs. All the unpleasant symptoms of an allergy attack are caused by your immune system acting on harmless substances as if they were dangerous. Your immune system is responding to a false alarm.

Allergies are a growing problem that affects at least 20% of people in the United States. Allergens are substances like pollen, mold or animal dander, that can cause a physical reaction. Your body becomes hypersensitive to things that don’t bother most people. How do you get allergies? You don’t “catch”allergies the way you catch a cold. No one yet knows why we become allergic. [prevent and cure colon cancer] 1. Prevent and Cure Cancer with a Colonoscopy

We know how to prevent and cure colon cancer with this simple, almost painless procedure called the colonoscopy. The colonoscopy is the gold standard for detecting colon cancer. It is an invaluable screening tool.

The actual procedure takes less than twenty minutes. You are sedated and may be asleep during the exam. A gastroenterologist or surgeon inserts a long flexible tube called a colonoscope into your rectum and guides it into the colon. A tiny video camera at the tip helps look for the tissue masses, called polyps. If one or more suspicious polyps are found, they are removed during the exam and biopsied. The majority of polyps can be removed with a wire loop, and small polyps can be destroyed just by touching them with an electrical current. Air may be introduced to extend the colon for better visibility. In most cases early colon cancer is prevented and cured by removing the colon polyps.

There is usually no pain and no complication from the procedure. There’s a low risk of bleeding when larger polyps are removed. And removing very large polyps, however, may require surgery.
[prevent and cure colon cancer] 2. What is Colon Cancer?

The colon comprises the upper 4 to 5 feet of your large intestine, and the rectum makes up the lower 6 inches. Colon cancer is cancer of the large intestine, the lower part of your digestive system, called the large intestine and also called the colon.”

Fallout 3 perspective…

January 27th, 2009 | Category: Games, Obama, Politics

Clive Thompson ponders the depression he feels when playing Fallout 3. I, like him, know DC fairly well and recognise all those places in the game that exist. However rather than depressing me I found the game a great escape from the Obamathon that has been happening this month.

It has been a release for me killing the scum of post-apocalyptic DC as they prey on the weak and indigent. Of course, I appreciate the free market that exists in the game as well. Would that politicians realised how well the free market works without government meddling.

Politics aside Fallout 3 is one of the best damn games around. While maybe not the RTS that Fallout I & II fans wished for, its still a great game. Its especially good for those non-linear types who like to wander around and not do quests all the time. And then there is the pleasure of reducing the still in tact cars & buses to twisted metal. I find it a great way to mark where you have gone.

NB: I never liked the first two games and had no idea what the fuss was all about.

A new set of lyrics: Sympathy…

January 26th, 2009 | Category: Growing Old Disgracefully, Music

Every time I go into a bar these days lyrics seem to bubble up. This is what I came up while Kim was in the loo.

Sympathy

You come with sympathy
Feigning such empathy
Sending all your gifts
No matter how lame

Our feelings don’t matter
As far as I gather
So long as you do it
Hurt feelings don’t matter

For your god
On us you’ll trod
Another soul for him
No matter how grim

For those left behind
Nothing but arrogance
Never keeping in mind
that we suffer too

Keep away & stay clear
Until you got cheer
Keep your mawkish gifts
And your lordly trinketts

Let us be at peace
As we watch him go
Let us be at peace
As we watch him go.

Update: The GoD songwriting team is now working transatlantic as our band muso is back on a fast line and has his studio set up.

Yes, Islam is the most peaceful religion, and if you don’t believe that then you will get killed in Morocco. It is only peaceful if you follow exactly what they tell you to. And if your not a Moroccan native then you will be a target by all the thieving/kidnapping/murdering people of my country, and if you think the police will help you, then you are very wrong. The police force will try and squeeze you for what ever money you may have left but following a prolonged beating you will be released. When will they see a free country where it doesnt matter what you wear or how long your hair is or what music you listen to or even which country you are from, Morocco at the moment is pretty much England in 1800. sorry if my English isnt so good
