Sarah Palin @ the RNC
Bloody Hell she was damn good!
Others disagree like the odious snotty cretin who writes for First Post who had this to say.
At St Paul last night her Minnie Mouse-like nasal timbre soon became irksome and she blew the timing on many of the lines in the rambling speech she’d been handed. Will she give the McCain campaign the lift it needs?
Expect more sneering analysis of this sort from people on the British side of the pond. They still can’t quite grasp that American politicians, Obama excepted, don’t generally aim their speeches at the Euro-elite. This might be because they don’t have a vote and no one really cares what they think in vast parts of the US.
Others have been far more positive like Claudia and Roger.
Janet Daley defends Palin and many of the commenters don’t quite get the piece.
On the other hand fellow columnist Mary Riddell does not get it at all. She says I find Palin’s God-and-guns fundamentalism terrifying. Well bully for you dear. Too bad the people who she will attract don’t give a toss what you think.
More on the anti-Palin fanatic feeding frenzy.
The Sun on the other hand quite liked the speech. No word on whether they have asked her if she wants to post for Page 3. Centreright quite liked the speech.
VDH has a new word to Palanize.

These t-shirt and mugs are pretty vile but predictable.
Leonard Doyle opines about Palin as does Sarah Wildman. Needless to say the rest of the crew at the Guardian pile on.
The BBC, of course, has been going out of his way to find people who won’t vote Republican. The bias in the report I just saw on Newsnight is especially ripe.
Jennifer Rubin of PJM was well impressed as is Michael Weiss.
More trashing of Palin from Charles Clover whoever he is.
For more on BBC biases head over to the great Biased BBC.
More Palin bashing in the Telegraph this time from Vicki Woods continuing with paranoia about her values.
