No question of Sharia courts in UK but…
On the ways Sharia could play a role he said: “There is no reason why Sharia principles, or any other religious code, should not be the basis for mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
But the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Phillips, said the set of principles could be used in “mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution”.
There has already been a Muslim lawyer on Sky blasting anyone who disagrees with this sentiment. Alas the host who did manage a few decent questions, but failed to point out that Sharia is completely at odds with English Common Law.
One has to think the pressure for more Sharia law in the UK from Muslims (whether light or not) is due to the fact that they loath the fact that English common law has its roots in Jewish rabbinical law.
Does the concept of you come to a country and you have to abide by their laws not register with these people?
Update: Malik MP is now comparing the Muslim “plight” in the UK to that of Jews in Europe last century. Does he realise what a load of utter tosh he is peddling?

No, it doesn’t (the concept, I mean).
In fairness, this complaint was long lodged by other cultures against Anglo-American tourists. Whether a Brit Brat whose father doesn’t want him caned for breaking the drug laws of a country in the throes of a massive drug-fueled conflict, or an American college student who thinks it might be “fun” to hang with FARC, or to check out what’s going on down at the Paris barricades, you do that sort of think at your peril BECAUSE YOU ARE ON THEIR TURF. Some of us who engaged in journalism and other business knew going in that if we really just had to go see the fun happenings over to Timisoara or Tiananmen, we would run an excellent chance at encountering a bit of violence visited upon ourselves.
These muhammedean heretics could use a good dose of that reality. Where the h*ll are your football hooligans?
