Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less

May 31st, 2008 | Category: Envirofascism, Politics

100,000 have already signed the petition including this blogger. Send a message to the enviroloons and Congresscritters that you are sick and tired of their getting in the way of finding and using domestic oil/gas. The US is a resource rich country but we have fools who won’t let us use it.

It made me so pleased that the first time I tried to sign the petition the site was overweighted with hits.

There is one focused on the North East…please sign here.

The Forgotten Assassin

May 31st, 2008 | Category: Politics

Having gaffed yet again by invoking the memory of Robert Kennedy’s assassination in a desperate attempt to snatch victory from the Obama jaws of defeat, Hillary Clinton nevertheless reminded us that we are approaching the 40th anniversary of that momentous event that occurred shortly after midnight on June 5, 1968.

Huckabee attacks Libertarian Republicans

May 30th, 2008 | Category: Politics

Former Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has formally declared War against the libertarian wing of the Republican Party.
Be interesting to know what Huckabee thinks of his own in-state libertarian Republican homeboy. Wonder if the Huck would call Rep. Greenburg “soulless.”

The 10 Best & Worst Conceived Characters in Gaming

May 30th, 2008 | Category: Politics

Games have given life to countless imaginary people. But which could have leapt from the pages of a far-fetched George Eliot novel, and who was the creation of a lonely coder sitting in the dark with a half-concealed erection? As we count down the 10 best and worst characters in gaming the only rule is we’re only allowed one character from. . .

Heartfelt

May 30th, 2008 | Category: Art, Gnotalex

LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya is at it again:

Heart3

Nathan built this anatomically correct heart for the Rady Childrens Hospital in San Diego. He says, A piece like this is a great tool to help doctors talk to young patients about their own hearts. Hopefully kids will relate to a heart built from a medium that they are familiar with.

Except that I think he did not make it. This looks like a clear case of theft.

Left hypocrisy

May 29th, 2008 | Category: Political Correctness, UK Politics

They get upset when the sole BNP councillor in London gets a blog but doesn’t when jew-hating/gay-hating/everyone hating Islamists get a voice in the Guardian and the Independent. If it weren’t so serious, it would be funny, the hysteria and foolish actions that are resulting from the result of the London elections. With each outrage they are giving more fodder to the BNP. The seating arrangements in the chamber being the most pathetic so far.

Harry’s Place is an exception to the above of course.

Whatever happened to the climate change con?/Klaus calls it right

May 28th, 2008 | Category: Envirofascism, Politics

Both the UN and the media may soon be forced to jettison entirely the myth of a climate science ‘consensus’. If nothing else, the fast rising number of ‘mavericks’ demands it.

Andrew says: You think the UN might regret the fact they used people with no scientific qualifications at all, like Al Gore, to push their dubious assertions? No one should be surprised that many scientists took affront to attempt to stifle debate.

Vaclav Klaus has re-iterated the truism that the enviromental movement is just statism/marxism under another name. Those who are behind it wish to control your life via the hammer of the state. The excuse has changed but the general gist has not. Readers of this blog will know that I have been saying this for years.

Klaus wants to debate to Gore about the subject. You think Gore has the guts to debate such a clever man?

Krauthammer agrees with this line of reasoning.

A Rose By Any Other Name

May 28th, 2008 | Category: Gnotalex, Humor, Middle East, Terrorism, Video

A few years ago I mused how unlikely it was that a well-known Islamic terrorist group would take its name from a pig’s hindquarters. It now seems that Hamas has caught up with my logic, and is taking a serious look at rebranding its image:

Copyright police threaten iPod, Mac

May 27th, 2008 | Category: Politics

Draconian new copyright protection laws would give border guards the right to seize iPods and mobile phones on suspicion they contained illegal downloads.
That’s the very real threat of new legislation currently being worked out by the G8 nations, of which the UK is a part, according to Canadian reports.

I am dying to know how they would be able to tell if you iPod contained “illegal downloads”. Who is going to train them? Big brother-like people from the RIAA who basically consider everyone a criminal until proven otherwise? I hope that people and organisations in all the G8 countries resist this in extremis.

Eurosceptics: learn from the SNP & Sinn Fein

May 27th, 2008 | Category: Politics

Eurosceptics have had is that our strategic eggs have too often been placed in one basket. Opposition to the Euro (successful). Opposition to the EU Reform Treaty (unsuccessful). What is surely needed is a broad-based campaign strategy that, while being based around a substantive theme, has a number of smaller more achievable goals within it.

Andrew says: Donal has a good piece on where the eurosceptics head now.

One good thing about high petrol prices…

May 24th, 2008 | Category: UK Politics

It will keep caravaners off the bloody roads which is always a good thing. They plug things up, delay you and are cronic for gas mileage. Paying a bit more for your petrol is worth not having to deal with caravans surely?

There is even a blog called I hate Caravans.
