Patrick’s Victory in the Indy Japan–Whining alert
It seems the men of Indycars are not happy that they got beat by a woman in Japan. They are whining about her “weight” advantage. Its as if she is dominating the series right now; she has just won one race.

When I was eleven, I began crewing for my father in sailboat races. We raced Hobie 16 catamarans, and my light weight was an advantage — an unfair one, in the eyes of the competition, so we had to lash a barbel to the trampoline — unfair to us, as we couldn’t very well “hike” out the barbel on the trapeze when reaching. Also, my Dad’s extra beer weight at the time (and the cooler full of Heileman’s) more than made up for my eleven year old frame. We brought home our share of trophies, and I still have an engraved rigging knife from that season. And it wasn’t long before I grew to appreciate the Heileman’s either, an extra incentive for energetic crew support in heavy weather catamaraning, for which “Dutch courage” is a true advantage!
