Reticence is no answer…

March 07th, 2008 | Category: Political Correctness

Instead of cowering in the face of the cretins who abuse those in uniform why not seek the out and stand up to them. The RAF brass responsible for this should be ashamed of themselves. The scum who abuse them should be suffering not their men and women in uniform. If need be find out who they are and go visit the wankers abusing soldiers when they are out on the town. Kicking three shades of dung out of the cowards will teach them.

The Fallacy of ‘Relevance’

March 07th, 2008 | Category: Politics

“Forget the fact that young people have a limited life experience with which to connect. The real damage comes from legitimizing an attitude that says the only important things to learn are those that are ‘relevant’. Students soon learn that its OK to quit something because it lacks ‘relevance’.”

12 Monkey’s connection to Times Sq. attack?

March 07th, 2008 | Category: Terrorism

The letters to DC about the attack contain the line “Happy New Year, We Did It” which Mancow recognised from the Terry Gilliam movie 12 Monkeys. Could the nutters behind the attack be obsessed with that movie?

It will be interesting to see who did this: anarchists, Islamists or just idiots.

Huffington Turns Off Comments on Jerusalem Attack

March 07th, 2008 | Category: Politics

Arianna Huffington’s hate site has turned off comments for their post on the mass murder in Jerusalem: 7 Die in Shooting at Jerusalem Seminary – The Huffington Post. Why would they do this? Because their site is infested with virulent antisemites…

I can’t see why anyone is shocked to hear that Hamas is celebrating the killing of 7 Jewish students. Hamas, who are a neo-Nazi and admire Hitler, want to kill all Jews. Of course, there are still people, who seem to pop up on the BBC all time, who still think Hamas are “victims”.

The case against man-made warming

March 07th, 2008 | Category: Politics

The third question concerns the effects of modest warming. A major scare associated with a putative future warming is a rapid rise in sea level, but even the IPCC has been scaling back its estimates. We show here that there will be little, if any, acceleration, and therefore no additional increase in the rate of ongoing sea-level rise.

Wonder what Al Gore will have to say about this?

Blogging the cancer: health food?

March 07th, 2008 | Category: Health

Last my good wife and I attempted to try another brand of wholewheat pasta to see what its like. We like pasta and are trying to find a healthy alternative to semolina. We are still regretting the decision. The stuff tasted like it was picked up off the dirt and it didn’t have a very good effect on either of our stomachs. Why do some health food manufacturers seem to think that being healthy means you have to suffer? This is not the first time I have tried a wholewheat something that was about as vile as it could be.

I have to say that supermarkets in the US are far better at catering to healthy alternatives that in the UK. Even in the biggest supermarket in the UK the choices are limited and unimaginative. What I am most perturbed by is the lack of decent non-white bread here in the UK. You have choice of bog standard stuff or odd harsh ones; no decent pumpernickel or rye to be had.

The alternative is to go into those wonderful healthfood stores. You know the ones staffed by people with dubious cleaning habits lathered up with cheap patouli. These places spend more time going on about how “right-on” they are than actually stocking anything interesting.

Is it any wonder why people go back to bad habits when being healthy is such a pain?

And today I mean that quite literally.
