Dungeons and Dragons Creator Dies
Gary Gygax misses his saving throw and passes into the void. Thanks Gary for the great game that has become such a great part of the gaming culture.
Very sad day for all those who loved pen & paper gaming in their youth. I spent many very pleasant hours playing D&D in both prep school and college. Without him the whole RPG thing would not have caught on. He will be sadly missed by all who like a good game and some good imagination.

I always thought it was a mistake for the estate of H.P. Lovecraft to sue Gygax’s TSR for copyright infringement re: the C’thulhu Mythos chapter of Deities & Demigods; perhaps they were under the spell of Yog-Sotheth. More understandable was Procter & Gamble’s trademark suit over TSR’s original trademark design. Gamers way back then suspected Jerry Falwell was behind both suits, but the mouthbreathers actually had nothing to do with it; it was instead the Lesser Daemon of K Street.
