Now the Archbishop of Canterbury falls foul of the 24 hour media in which it is necessary to fully clear every hurdle without falter. The most disappointing thing about reading his lecture (which I did until about 2.30am this morning) is that it doesn’t say what he was clearly heard to say on the BBC’s World At One yesterday.

You knew this was coming…one of Williams’ defenders popped up on the BBC to say all of us criticising him are wait for it…”racists”. That is pretty much the BBC line now.
