A BBC children’s TV presenter has been arrested after his girlfriend died suddenly.
Mark Speight was held at a central London police station after the woman, understood to be Natasha Collins, died.

With the one-day Hucka-BOO-yah on the GOP side, the big winner in Iowa tonight seems to be illiberal economic populism.

I am not the slightest bit surprised by the result. Its insane that Iowan Democrats picked Barack “Hussein” Obama as their choice for nominee. Its quite amusing that Hilary Clinton is third in the state. Just goes to show how clueless Iowans are. Do they really think that Americans are going to elect a man who has spent time in a madrassa in his youth? A socialist one at that? Hopefully this will be the year that Iowa and its idiotic system for selecting a choice is proven to be irrelevant.
On the Republican side I am not surprised that Huckebee got the nod. The evangelicals and other happy clappy loons are well organised in that state. I don’t think he will get the nomination and New Hampshire will put the race back to sanity. McCain for all his faults is far better than Pastor Huck. Actually any of the top Republican candidates is better than Huck. Was pleased to see that Thompson tied McCain for third.
I can’t wait for New Hampshire and some New England sanity.
Oh and this should fill anyone with an ounce of sanity with terror. One commentator things Huckabee brings another Southern governor to mind…”Jimmy Carter”.
NB: And it ain’t the fact that Obama is black. I worked for Amb. Alan Keyes in New Hampshire one year.
Please note 60% of the Republican vote in Iowa is happy clappy and on 20% describes themselves the same way.
