Anti-Jihad row spreads
And its deeply troubling to me; its even denied me my weekly dose of SNN. It troubles me because I think its a shame that the row even erupted. It seems to be a telling example of the lack of understanding by some in the US of the actual situation on the ground on Continental Europe. The row basically sees LGF and Brussels Journal over whether not VB is a good addition to the anti-Jihad cause.
Now I read both sites frequently via my RSS and both have commenters who are sometimes beyond the pale. However, I think that any grouping that aims to help the anti-Jihad cause genuinely, and no I don’t mean the BNP, is a good addition. If you listen to some Americans they would not have anything to do with any European party with any tint of a dodgy past. What they don’t understand that this is both short-sited and impractical. Just as most of the parties of the left have dubious links so do many on the right.
Now I have looked into the Vlaam Belang as well as they not neo-Nazis ala the BNP in the UK or some of the other parties in Eastern Europe. While some of their language might be a bit much for many Americans, many who no doubt do not understand these words have been translated, instant reactions are not helpful.
It has been a worry for quite a long time for the Islamists and their sycophants that the right, of all ilks, have been united in their vision against Islamisation of Europe. Lets not please them by acting like them and tearing ourselves apart.
Guys, mistakes were made on both sides, why not think of the bigger picture and work together for a far bigger cause then your feelings?
