Iain reads…so you don’t have to
Iain Martin has done a great service to his readers and read the vomit-inducing codswhallop contained in Peter “Mandy” Mandleson’s latest speech in Brussels. You can read the thing if you want on the European Commission website. Here is an excerpt which rather sums things up.
It’s not a constitution - there is no anthem, no ancient Greek mottos. And although the EU’s pooling of some powers to give Europe greater weight in the world will always be objected to by British diehards, we need to remember that for the little bit of influence over our own actions that we grant others, we get an equivalent measure of influence over theirs.”
You know when someone like Mandy gives a speech like this one really needs to worry. The more the EU tell everyone that the treaty is not a constitution the more people think they are hiding what it really is.
One does have to wonder if Brown will be able to resist the siren call to give a referendum now being heard from behind him on the benches.

TBIFOC ponders: Now, Madonna’s trying to make her own deal with Warner Brothers Music for 9 figures, but she’s getting the boot and crawling off to another label with more money than brains. She’s… not… worth… it… anymore. (Same with the Rolling Stones, eh,but some jackass keeps writing them deals and checks.)

Despite my wife’s experience in the UK with the NHS and their appalling nursing care; I am sure that good nurses worldwide are using this wonderful resource called the internet to further their training and knowledge of their craft. I am sure that nurses from all over the world trade tips and tricks to help get the best out of themselves and their care for their patients. Again, NHS nurse excepted, nurses care about doing their best for those they look after. Its not called “a caring profession” for nothing.
Its even possible to go to nursing school online these days so nurses can continue their training in situ learning as they go along. This sort of advance in nursing technology allows unprecedented growth in a nurses knowledge allowing them to keep up with latest advances in medical training and procedure.
A nursing career has changed forever; and now required them to be more knowledgeable than ever to make sure they know what is going on. As surgical procedures get more and more efficient; the little time that a patient is in the hospital has to be used to its utmost. Surgeries that used to require a week in the hospital can now be done on an outpatient basis where the person gets to go home that day.
Why has my mind turned to thoughts of nursing? My father is heading in for a procudure in a few days.
