David Green points out the idiocy of raising taxes on booze because of feral children who murder and steal. Instead of blaming the parents for their out of control children, some police nitwit wants everyone else to pay for more for their booze. We all suffer and the actual culprits get a slap on the hand and sympathy.

In the light of the British police going after Channel 4 for misrepresenting radical Imans in their Dispatches episode on “hidden mosques” Conservative Home asks if they British police are coddling Islamism instead of fighting terrorism. The West Midlands Police have decided not to prosecute the hate-spewing Imans in the film. This is just beyond belief and shows utter cowardice on the part of the Police. What are these people waiting for? Another successful attack by a home-grown Islamist? How many deaths would it take 10, 50, 1000?

Wake Up Europe!
The Brussels mayor, the Socialist Freddy Thielemans, has, on 9th of August 2007 sent out a press release in which he has banned a demonstration with a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of 9/11 on the 11th sept in Brussels.
I wonder if this guy had the same amount of professional courage when it came to banning “stop the war” or pro-Islamist rallies in his cities. Lets hope those wanting to commemorate 9/11 do exactly what they left would do and have a rally anyway.

British gov’t to monitor blogs
Not happy with just nannying and monitoring everyone in the meat world it seems the British government is not going to have a unit to monitor blogs. Its amazing how bureaucrats hate to have anything outside of their control or regulation. This will not go down well with bloggers that is for sure. Most British blogs are hosted abroad anyway.
This is to avoid anti-free speech legislation from the EU. I suspect that our friends in the ROP will jump on any chance to curtail British blogging.
