Well done Bill Dodge
My uncle, a native of East Boothbay and recent attendee at Kim & my wedding, has got himself a nice big spread in the Boothbay Register. More importantly the man managed to have a complete puff piece written about him. No doubt all the local politicians will be in absolute fits of jealousy. The picture is even quite a flattering one. And here we thought it would be Kim or I getting all the column inches. We got some competition for Dodge clan ham!

A friend was smoking a cigarette in the outdoor space near the London Eye (London’s big wheel). An officious middle-aged woman came up to him and told him to extinguish his cigarette “because it was now against the law.” She introduced herself as “an enforcer.” Puzzled, he pointed out that new law only applied to indoor or mostly enclosed spaces…

“Comment The internet has always offered a stage for dramatic reinvention. Corporate lobbyists have found it a suitable theatre for AstroTurfing, given the willingness of a net audience to suspend its disbelief. Now, internet television lets professional politicians play the role of citizen-reporter.” Yes, I am that Lagwolf mentioned at the bottom.

So Republicans want another 9/11?
Blogcritics has another classy post in the wake of the satire about the Minneapolis bridge collapse, this time its by Brad Delong and he is suggesting that Republicans want another 9/11 to boost their election fortunes. I suspect that some BC authors are trying to write the most offensive out there stuff to get reader attention.

Welcome to the August 13, 2007 edition of best of me symphony.
Tupelo Kenyon presents Being Present Through Sensuality posted at Tupelo Kenyon, saying, “The idea is to occasionally turn off the senses in order to better tune into the aliveness that lies beyond them. The realization that there is something beyond the world of the five senses can provide an “aha” experience, especially at first. With the senses turned off (or even turned down), there remains a vibrant sense of aliveness – the world of feeling and the realm of being. (Enjoy soothing instrumental music as you read plus songs with lyrics related to each article – all free.)”

Online and free
Many of those of us who are experienced online can get rather blasé about all the free stuff that you can find if you know where to look online. From browsers to games there is a myriad of cool stuff out there that cost you nothing but an email and a download (this costs you if you are limited in downloads amount per month). So you need a good source of the top 100 Free Online Software Programs where you can find what you need. Listed are such great programs like Del.icio.us., a good alternative to Digg or as most people use it yet another outlet for your posts.
There is a program called GMail GTalk which allows you to chat with other Gmail users and is yet another incentive to get all yer mates on Gmail if they aren’t already there. Another one, which is invite only so far, but I am happy to invite you to join (email me via the blog) it as I am a member is Pwonce, which is by the same guy behind Digg. Not sure about the name but it is another great source of networking, hits and info. So get out there and check what there is to be had, you will never know what you might find.
