Cartoons Should Serve the People!

August 06th, 2007 | Category: Politics

I have long hoped that the miserable, humorless culture warriors of the right
—those who saw the Teletubbies as Bronski Beat for tots, yet mistook the homoeroticism of Judas Priest for an Albion-inflected brand of satanism—would concede defeat and allow the rest of us to carry on enjoying our GG Allin records…

Kos Kid: Kill Me Now

August 06th, 2007 | Category: Politics

Here’s another open thread, with a gratuitous link to yet another jaw-droppingly whacked out Kos Kid diary: Daily Kos: I would rather die in a terrorist attack. This one would rather die in a terrorist attack than see Valerie Plame outed….

Top 10 for d’Bacons

August 06th, 2007 | Category: Amusements, Politics

WOW WOW and thrice WOW

We now have our (I believe) first top ten. D’Bacons is the seventh smallest public sector. A fantastic achievement.

Deserved congratulations.

Not like that bloated wallowing welfare freeloaders state of Connacht Regus…

Anyone who wants to take a look at my nation in Nationstates head here. I have made every effort to run my nation as a classical liberal state.

Nukes easier than a passport

August 06th, 2007 | Category: Bloody insane stuff

A blogger named Gregg had raised an interesting point about the amount of time it takes to be approved to buy nuclear materials versus the time it takes to get a passport in the US. It might shock many to know that it takes longer to get a US passport as a legal citizen than it does to get approved to handle hazardous material. This does rather seem to be a bit daft it has to be said. If you are wondering the approval and delivery of hazardous material took for two undercover GAO agents…it was one month.

Ready for Starcraft II?

August 06th, 2007 | Category: Games

Recently Blizzard confirmed that it was indeed making Starcraft II, the much beloved and adored, especially in Asia, space based RTS game. Now I played Starcraft quite a bit when it came out, got the Brood War update played that a bit and then moved on to other games. Lots of people worldwide never have moved on and still play the game, especially online in a way that borders on fanaticism. I am in no doubt I will get Starcraft II as I have always been keen on supporting Blizzard.
