Why are we so scared of offending Muslims?
It is often said that resistance to jihadism only increases the recruitment to it. But, if so, it must cut both ways. The enemies of intolerance cannot be tolerant, or neutral, without inviting their own suicide. And the advocates and apologists of bigotry and censorship cannot be permitted to take shelter under the umbrella of a pluralism

Why oh why is Christopher Hitchens almost alone in speaking sense about this issue.
We should all campaign loudly for equal treatment under the law: freedom of speech should be universal ( with the sole exception of “crying fire in a crowded cinema” ). Real adherence to this founding principle of democracy will solve the current dilemma of inequality for most of us enforced by threats from one group.
