I think some might consider that a veiled, or not so veiled threat. This comment was part of this thread on the Telegraph site.
I have to agree that people should read all they can about Islam. Might I suggest you start with this book? Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), The (Politically Incorrect Guides)
Update: Peregrine agrees with the Islamists about the permissive society. Not exactly the right time to express that sentiment one would think.
