Glasgow Airport Terrorist Attack Hero - What Really Happened

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: Politics

Airport worker, hero, smoker. John ‘McClane’ Smeaton lays down the a beat-down on al-Qaeda in his own words. This is how we do justice in the West of Scotland baby. This is a good site to help you figure out what the hell the man is saying in the short videos of him. Scotland needs a hero right now and they got one that is for sure.

The making of a legend on the internet

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: Politics

The video below has gotten some legs on the internet. The one where the Scot tells the Islamists where to get off. Oh then someone started a Facebook group about the attacks. Oh yes that was me that was…thanks to Brian of London for the hat tip.

Wonder what Ahmed means?

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: ROPMA, Terrorism

You can defeat some terrorists but you never ever can defeat Islam, read Islam first & I am sure you will change your mind for what you have mentioned above , I am referring to Mr. Senior of 3 July . Dawas Posted by Ahmed Aldawas on July 3, 2007 7:43 AM

I think some might consider that a veiled, or not so veiled threat. This comment was part of this thread on the Telegraph site.

I have to agree that people should read all they can about Islam. Might I suggest you start with this book? Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), The (Politically Incorrect Guides)

Update: Peregrine agrees with the Islamists about the permissive society. Not exactly the right time to express that sentiment one would think.

Not to be bitchy but…Jacqui

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: UK Politics

Could someone tell Jacqui Smith MP that when she is giving a stern speech about terrorist dangers and ongoing investigations it might not be such a good idea to show so much cleavage? Does she not realise that the camera in the house looks down on her? As my beloved said: “she looked like she was going out in the evening.” It was inappropriate and unprofessional. What happened to Labour’s image consultants?

Its not like Labour women can’t dress appropriately; look at the two behind the speaker in the video when they show it again.

It seems that got the same idea watching her speech.

Concert against jihad

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: Politics

“Madonna, U2, Green Day and over 100 other music artists will join together to defend artistic freedom, the rights of women and the equality of gay people in the face of a lavishly-financed, global wave of religious violence.*” It pleases me and amazes me that artists who normally spend their time railing against capitalism are doing this…

Scottish hero speaks…

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: ROPMA, Terrorism

Found this via my buddy Dave. American readers might need to ask him for a translation as the man in question is very Glaswegian. I think you will get the drift though.

Investigation moves to the mosque

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: ROPMA, Terrorism

Shockingly the investigation has moved onto a Glasgow mosque. A controlled explosion was made of a car earlier today. It seems that the perpetrators might have gone to the mosque to pray before they went off to kill. How pious of them.

Not that is a joking mater but I was thinking.

They told the public to look out for Asian men driving erratically.

If you drive in London that would pretty much be all of them then.

I wonder if any of the bright sparks at the NHS will decide it might not be a good idea to employ any more Muslim foreign doctors? I mean out of the 9 arrested 6 are doctors. That might be some clue.

Watch tonight’s Newsnight to hear the jihadi mindset explained by a former jihadi. Then you get to hear some lame waffle about “empathising” from Patrick Mercer MP.

Airtoons

airtoons

As a public service, I present these air safety tips. Now you don’t have to feel guilty about ignoring the stupid pantomime show that the stewardesses flight attendants put on before takeoff. Like it’s going to save your life or something.

Warning: Some are probably NSFW.

Religious leaders on the pressing issue

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: Religion

Sir As Chancellor, Gordon Browns commitment to tackling global poverty and the passion with which he pursued change was commendable. We believe that as Prime Minister he faces an equally daunting challenge.

Climate change presents perhaps the greatest long term threat to the worlds poor and has the potential to undo decades of development efforts. Hundreds of millions face drought, floods, starvation and disease.

The UK has an historic responsibility for climate change. Rich countries account for 80% of the build up of CO2 in the atmosphere to date and the UK produces more CO2 in one year than Bangladesh has in the past 150 years.

We have a moral responsibility to act first and do the most. Scientists tell us there is a narrow window of opportunity for concerted action, if we are to avoid the most devastating impacts of climate change on the worlds poor.

We look to Prime Minister Gordon Brown to show leadership and to ensure that we in the UK do our fair share to reduce emissions, which will also provide the legitimacy to demand the same of others.

Action at home must start with a strong and effective climate bill and be followed through with concrete action across all sectors of the economy, no matter how difficult. Without this action, we can forget making poverty history – climate change will make poverty permanent.

Rt Rev John Gladwin, Bishop of Chelmsford
Rt Rev Dr Anthony Russell, Bishop of Ely
Rt Rev Peter Price, Bishop of Bath and Wells
Revd Elizabeth Caswell, Moderator of the General Assembly of the United Reformed Church
Jonathan Edwards, General Secretary Baptist Union of Great Britain
Revd Graham Carter, President of the Methodist Conference
Bishop Joe Aldred, Chair, Council of Black-Led Churches
Rabbi Danny Rich, Chief Executive, Liberal Judaism
Rabbi Dr Tony Bayfield, Head, Movement for Reform Judaism
Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, New North London Synagogue
Rabbi Barry Marcus, Central London Synagogue
Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary General, The Muslim Council of Britain
Zareen Roohi Ahmed, Chief Executive, British Muslim Forum
Ramesh Kallida, Secretary General, Hindu Forum of Britain
Dr Indarjit Singh, Director, Network of Sikh Organisations
Jamie Cresswell, Chair, Network of Buddhist Organisations

Its so nice to see religious leaders getting together on an important subject that concerns us all. Do these knuckleheads not grasp the imminent danger the UK from a very human threat? I mean there isn’t even decisive truth that humans are the cause of even a small percentage of climate change. How the hell do you legislate against sun spots you fools?

You know that big yellow thing in the sky that provides warmth when its out and visible? You know the one that gives you a sun burn? You think it might have something to do with the temperature on the planet? Its so reassuring to see religious leaders encouraging irrational and ignorant ideas.

Its idiocy like this that make Christopher Hitchens and his ilk writings on religion ring even truer.

Get yer watches

July 03rd, 2007 | Category: Technology

It sometimes amuses friends of mine but I no longer wear a watch. I rot watch bands so took to wearing watch fobs for a while now I just rely on my phone. However I know there are quite a few people that do like their watches. If you are interested in a Seiko Watch there is quite a good site that sells genuine watches online for rather reasonable prices. The site is clean and clear, easy to find what you want. If I were getting one I would rather like this Seiko chronograph. I have always rather liked watches with lots of dials on them.
