Cracking Gent

March 07th, 2007 | Category: Politics

Rather than fawning to the government, a leading business who was offered the running of the Olympics, believe that people should be given a referendum on Labour’s latest white elephant. Sir Christopher Gent has turned against the games as they continually spin down a giant financial black hole. He isn’t exactly diplomatic either.

“Personally, I cannot see that the long-term economic benefit of hosting the Games outweighs the costs and the horrific burden on the taxpayer, particularly London rate-payers. The cost for them is going to be astronomically high.

I do hope the referendum is only for Londoners, even better if it were only London taxpayers. There is precedent for this as well as Denver told the Olympics to get stuffed in the early 70s.

I am sure no one has the political courage to support this measure.

Get yer contacts cheap

March 07th, 2007 | Category: Technology

Those of you that are lucky enough to be able to have contact lenses and live in the UK might be interested in a site that aims to save you money on your contact lens purchases. I am sure that cheap contact lens uk will be a useful site for you to head over to and check out before you head off to the high priced brick and mortar type lens shops.

Now I am unable to use contact lenses because my left eye is so buggered that nothing will help it see any better, short of a new cornea/eye, and the other one sees rather well thus needs no help. However I am well aware that contacts cost quite a bit whether you got for the disposable ones or the long term type devices. It is good to see that there is more competition in the lens field thus reducing costs for the consumer.

Having a look at the site it looks rather good. Fast loading and easy to use they have even had the foresight to put a button on the top for tracking your order. Many sites allow this but hide it. If you manage to spend more than 60, which does not strike me as taking much effort, shipping is free. This is a sponsored post.

Bring out yer dead…

March 07th, 2007 | Category: Announcements

As part of the whole new image/clean up thing here at Dodgeblogium I am culling the blogroll of dead links. I am appalled at how many where on there; guess I have not done it in a while. Some of you will see yer link disappear from the regular listings if you are part of one of the mini-blogrolls on the bottom. A few more changes will be appearing as well…so keep an eye out.

Postiefest

March 07th, 2007 | Category: Blog gos

We are generally fairly fond of Pay Per Post on this blog and so are only to happy to mention their upcoming conference on blogging in Orlando. Alas, I cannot make it as I will be shortly back from my honeymoon. I am also not terribly keen to head to Orlando in June as it will be crowded and too bloody hot for me. I briefly considering speaking at the event to give me reason to go but that would just be a tad daft to be honest.

However if you are a postie or a budding postie you might want to take a look at the conference especially if you ware looking for a good excuse to go to Orlando and enjoy all it has to offer. You might be motivated to take the family and let them enjoy all the neat stuff to do in the Orlando area. The conference hotel is well placed and would be a good base case for your trip to the area.

There will be quite a bit going on at the conference that might be of interest to newer greener bloggers. There will be lots of information of maximising your blogs usefulness and effectiveness. It should be a good time for all those interested in learning all they can about the blogging craft.
