Libby loses to Levy
In my continuing quest to discover if there is any coverage of the Scooter Libby trial I am trying to determine why there is not real coverage of the event. Now it can be said that it will really probably not get any coverage unless there is a negative outcome against Libby. This would, of course, give the anti-American/Bush press in the UK a good chance at a good bash.
There is however something that is becoming far more important. The cash-for-peerages (places in the House of Lords) has become scandal has become rather more terse of late with some expert observers claiming there is a fair chance it will rival Watergate. The arrest of Blair’s money man and Middle East envoy Lord Levy on charges now of obstruction of justice yesterday is making the whole thing far more serious. The investigation is getting closer and closer to Blair so much so that Downing Street is starting to sweat.
Watch this space.
1 commentKeith requests…
Us to help with his campaign to stop OFCOM wasting 100m per annum of our taxpayers money on a Public Service Publisher.
He is basically requesting that people complain to OFCOM and kill off the proposals before they become some form of nightmare on the internet.
1 commentSarkozy reviewed…
Testimony, by the French right’s presidential candidate Nicolas Sarkozy, has just been translated into English. This manifesto is a fascinating insight into the mind of the man who wishes to run France. His brutal assesment of the state of France will please neither Francophobe nor Francophone, as he paints a picture of a country in dire straits, stuck in the past, unwilling to grasp the realities of modern life, whether it be its growing Muslim problem or its relationships with rest of the world.

Now one of those annoying loans that we all tend to have is student loans. One does tend not prioritise paying them back as one gets on one’s feet after leaving university. Well there are companys that specialise in Student Loan Consolidation and helping get one out from under the shadow of owing back your student loans. Take a look as see if they can help you. Margolis: good actress, crap Jew, useful idiot
Miriam Margolis and a bunch of other non-Jewish actors have launched a group to try to convince Israel to surrender even more land to the Palestinians. In an interview with the Daily Politics she managed to equate homicide bombers with the actions of the Israeli defence forces. She got a bit bolshy when she was asked if she supported suicide bombers however she has not done the greatest job of dissuading this belief especially not in the eyes of Adam LeBor over at Harry’s Place. He has a point when she comes out with this sort of thing.
“I still say what I say: unless Arabs see us as people, they will go on killing us and I cannot blame them for that. I do not know what else they can do, what other way they can achieve any sort of political viability as a nation.”
Miriam might want to think before she speaks next time. Most people would read that and think she is one of those self-hating Jews. Her leftie cred is worth more to her than the deaths of her fellow Jews in Israel.
Update: There are moonbats in SL as well alas.

ROPMA at it again…
More members of the Religion of Peace have been arrested by the police in an attempt to stop a spectacular terrorist attack. At least 8 have been arrested in the muzzie area of Birmingham and they were all young men naturally. It was supposed to be an “Iraq style” kidnap. Its good to see that the police are keeping tabs on these evil bastards. No doubt in a few hours we will hear bleating from the normal reporesentatives about the singling out of young Muslim men. Expect more arrests as this was a nationwide investigation.
Sky is reporting the target for kidnap, torture and execution was a Muslim male in his 20s who is a soldier.

An interesting (trans: I couldn’t find anything else to link to, as God is my witness) little toy, something like a Spirograph. You can adjust the lengths and axes of the rotor; or you could go get another beer. Your call.
Lord Levy arrested!
Sky is reporting that Lord Levy has been arrested in Cash for Peerages scandal. This is breaking news and we beat Guido to it. The noose tightens around Blair and things are getting rather interesting.
Update: Guido has the poop on this scandal…a bit more of I told you so from him of course. But then again when you are right why not? He takes the shite and gets to gloat a bit.

Colby has discovered this little page of fun called What I learned from 9/11 Conspiracies that would be far funnier if people didn’t actually believe much of what he has listed as total fact. This one is covered by the you’‘ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll hurl type of warning.
Update: Does it shock you that morons who believe this crap tend to be 9/11 deniers as well?
2 commentsThat new religion…
This is something you don’t get to blog about every day and get paid for it. There is a new religion out there called Supplementology which proportes to stem the divide between religion and science. They have a clean and clear site called Supplementology.org which does a good job at explaining what its all about. They proclaim the following:
“The new faith [New Religion] is coming not to destroy the old gods, but to unify them in a single, true God who will rule all the nations with justice, love and omniscience…” (Santorino, chief spirit of God, 5/29/44)
The 9 points on the front page strike me as rather similar to the duality religions of yore. They are clear that they believe both good and evil exist on earth as do heaven and hell. It is very much living for your time alive not for you theoretical future after your death. Unlike many such sights for religious organisations the info on the site is free to read or even download in a handy PDF. Have a look and see what you think.

Comments are off for this postManchester won it
The winning bid for the new “super casino” has gone to Manchester, not Greenwich or the bookies favoured one Blackpool. The announcement and explanation can be found on the Casino Advisory Panel. Blackpool is pretty much gutted as they were depending on this to revitalise, what even people from Blackpool, would admit is a dump. To say that Blackpool is gutted is an understatement. I notice that Hull and Great Yarmouth (next door to my Manor) has gotten a large casino licence. I wonder if Deputy Knob Prescott had any affect on the Dome not getting a licence?

Until 10:30 tonight you can see Tim Montgomerie on Newsnight defending 18 Doughty Street new series of campaign adverts in the lead up to the next election. The advert featured is the rather amusing one based on taxation and how it affects daily life. Tim seems to be using his appearances on Doughty Street rather well and came across quite professionally on Newsnight this time. Here is the advert that was featured on Newsnight.
Speaking of which you can now see my latest appearance on Doughty Street here.
1 commentGoody needs cosmetic surgery mb?
Enough of the serious stuff; I guess everyone know that the Bollywood actress has won celebrity big brother shocking though it might be considering the recent row about her treatment by Jane Goody et al. Maybe those whose careers are being stuffed by their idiocy in the house should try some laser hair removal or other comestic surgery to save her career. Jane Goody sure looked ugly in the house even if you just saw the shots replayed on the news. Alas Goody and her partner in crime probably can’t get brain surgery which is what they most need. 1 commentThe End Of The World, vol. 15,268
The world has just 10 years to reverse surging greenhouse gas emissions or risk runaway climate change that could make many parts of the planet uninhabitable. The stark warning comes from scientists who are working on the final draft of a new report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The report, due to be published this week, will draw together the work of thousands of scientists from around the world who have been studying changes in the worlds climate and predicting how they might accelerate.
It’s kind of amusing how these doomsday scenarios slot neatly into nice round numbers. I recall that noted oceanologist, Ted Danson (link doesn’t lead to the quote—it was made before the Internet turned commercial) predicting the “death of the oceans” by the year 2000 if something (what, precisely, he didn’t say) wasn’t done.
Even though the death of the oceans made me sad, I’ve gotten over it by now. I’m resilient that way.
Comments are off for this postSL “terrorists” to talk to L&L
The so-called Patriotic Nigras who I called terrorists have been in touch regarding my comments about them on this blog and on the Lagwolf & Lair show. A representative wishes to set the record straight about their activities and it is possible we may have one of its members on the show on Sunday. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say for themselves in regard to their actions in Second Life. I hope to get a statement from the group soon as well.
They don’t seem to be so happy with me in this press release.
2 commentsYoung Muslims…a report
Not exactly shocking news it has to be said but the Policy Exchange has done a report on young Muslims attitudes towards the UK and British culture/life. It makes for pretty creepy reading for anyone who does not want the UK to become a Sharia state within a few generations. Needless to say that Harry’s Place despairs about the report and quite right too. Of course, king of the long posts Scott has a piece on the report as does Zia Haider Rahman.
On another subject but along a similar line. Who do you think this describes?
It is easy to dismiss Carter as the most egregious dork in US politics.
Yep, you guessed it, more descriptions of Jimmy Carter.
Oh yes and Steyn has written another corker. Incidentally don’t forget to listen to the second part of the Steyn interview on SNN

Interesting piece on The Long Tail has a piece about the fact that bands make their money from live gigs and not from the CDs sales. Alas record companies still don’t get it even though bands have been telling me this is the case for many years now. It is, of course, why older bands release piss-poor CDs as an excuse to be able to tour again and play their greatest stuff to adoring fans. Read the piece its really rather good.

Comments are off for this postGiuliani In New Hampshire
It appears that the Republican presidential hopefuls are going in to full campaign mode, particularly here in New Hampshire.
The latest high profile candidate to make an appearance in the Granite State was former New York mayor Rudi Giuliani.
Appearing at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, Giuliani talked about September 11th, the war against terror, and the standoff between President Bush and Congress about Iraq.
It was the images of the mayor traipsing through dust-caked Lower Manhattan and his strong reassurance to his city and country that was central to the visit. Giuliani also resisted openings to attack Democrats.
“I’m optimistic the Democratic Congress and President Bush will figure out how to do things together. It looks like on Iraq, we’re not off to a good start. ... You can have a different view on Iraq and that doesn’t make you better or worse than me.”
On Iraq, Giuliani didn’t delve too deeply into the unpopular war. In chatting with reporters, he tied it to the larger war on terrorism and linked it to his time in New York City.
If anyone should understand the war against terror, it’s Giuliani. After all it was his city that suffered the effects of an attack that rivaled that of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor that ushered the US in to World War II. September 11th brought us into the war on terror in no less a fashion than the Day of Infamy.
Giuliani also commented about leadership by those who govern America.
He took, however, a bipartisan shot at politicians who govern according to poll results.
“That does not make them leaders. That makes them actors, not leaders,” he said. “If I take a poll and figure out what you want me to say and then repeat it to you, I’m an actor, not a leader.”
We in New England have a term for politicians like that: weather vanes. We also have another term for them: unemployed.
Giuliani also visited the New Hampshire GOP annual meeting, drumming up support for state Republicans as well as making contacts for his run in the 2008 New Hampshire Primary, even though at this point all he has is an exploratory committee and not an actual campaign.
Comments are off for this postDrug treatment for teens
If you have or know of an adolescent with drugs or other behavioral problems then one has to recommend you take a look at EchoMalibu a excellent program that aims to cure your young adult’s ills. The organisation gives the following guarantee on the front of its site which are pretty heady words.
ECHO MALIBU is dedicated to providing youth with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis/co-occurring disorders, and/or behavioral problems with the highest quality of professional care available.
The program offers 24 hour/7 day a week care and support for parents with problemed teenagers. The site is clean and clear that is easy to navigate through. As those who seek this sort of treatment will probably rather upset it goods to see that the site is no fuss and glitz. For those seeking information there is an extensive FAQ to tackle most of your questions.
So successful is the program that the Governator Arnold Swatzernegger has praised the program as well Senator Feinstein and other high officials in California. So the program is getting attention from people who really matter in California.
Now obviously we hope none of our fine readers are in a position to need their services but it is good to know there are programs like this around.
