Vote for my tale…
I only need a few more votes to win ending my 34 week streak of not winning a challenge. Mostly its because I do creepy and many of the listeners don’t like creepy. Guess many of those who listen to the challenge podcast want to play it when children are around and mine scare em’ or something.

Sky is reporting that Blair has been quizzed in the Cash for Peerages investigation, no doubt Guido will be smug knowing he was right and his detractors weren’t. I never doubted Guido’s belief that the PM would be interviewed in the case.
Comments are off for this postWho bunged the EU Food Commissioner to close down British business?
There is a very worrying report from the House of Lords regarding the case of the EU Commission on food safety and a small British firm which has now been forced out of business on orders from Brussels. This despite the firm having successfully challenged the Commission in the European Court and won – the Commission first made three attempts to impliment the decision in a very slewed manner – and then simply by-passed it by demanding that our own Department of Health pass an immediate and totally unprecendented Statutory Instrument banning the use of any product made by the target firm!

Those Chicago Boyz have a rather interesting piece by Vladimir Dorta on the Allende Myth. It debunks all the erroneous rhetoric so beloved and peddled by the left about the man and his overthrow. If you think you know the facts behind the rise of Pinochet and the over-throw of Allende then I would recomend a good read of the piece. Found thanks to Dean’s blog.

Some of the readers of yesterday’s Guardian leader column criticising the anti-holocaust-fest have taken exception to the critical tone of the piece.

LineRider/SkiBattle
LineRider was a simple but addicting application in which you drew a line and then set a little fellow sledding down it. Some people, in spite of its limited drawing tools and interface, created quite elaborate worlds (Warning: Music) to slalom through. My efforts at it were somewhat less successful, with my sledder crashing and burning at the first opportunity; or else missing a jump and spiralling down, down, down through infinity. Or until I hit the stop button.
LineRider 2 came out a couple of weeks ago, and it’s got more and better tools, especially an eraser.
Or (via Ursi’s Blog) you could try SkiBattle (pictured), which allows you to add clip art, snow and music. The site isn’t complete—the link to a forum where you can post your creations and discuss them isn’t active yet.
I still wipe out on a regular basis, so I’m thinking that there’s a big problem with these programs.

This case that I found via Dean’s World is most worrying and is a sign that the new President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega might be back to his ole’ tricks. Will Hutton has the play by play on the case and encourages Americans to write to their congressman to express their unease at the events in Nicaragua. I hope that this does not foretell a descent into the previous chaos of Nicaragua’s past.

First of all its the next round in the Podcast Pickle tale contest so head off and vote for Laurence. (Update: Laurence is tied for first, he needs your votes.) Our mates over at JibJab have released their entire of year tale in the form of Nuckin’ Futs.
I am sent an interesting piece on the future of radio here in the UK over at Telebusillis. Its author has had kind words to say about both me and my pamphlet for the ERC.
And I (in the form of Marty) have written a couple of reviews over at Blogcritics…Out of Time by Pat Cox and Time to Emigrate by George Walden.
Oh yes and certainly last but not in the least my jeweler Tracy Johnson has a spanking new site. Go check it out, either for the technical aspects of the site or the actual jewelry. My beloved is sporting a bespoke ring of Tracy’s as her engagement ring and she is rather pleased with it.
