There’s a sickening conference of hatred going on in the world right now…
Iranian hate-conf as only Laurence can dissect it.

Chew on This
“Chew on this!”

Posted as the text to the piece read by Kim, produced by me in the Podcast Pickle contest.
Nobody gets razor blades in apples anymore for Halloween. Why? Nobody gives out apples much anymore. And when’s the last time you’ve heard of kids going apple-bobbing?
No, it’s getting hard to tamper with Halloween treats these days. With all the paranoia making folks go to airports to run their candy through the x-ray machines, Reese’s Needle Cups is a thing of the past.
Do they still x-ray candy at the airports, or did the terror attacks make all the airport people busy taking off shoes and stuff like that?

“Iran under its present leadership is a dangerously hateful and malevolent force whose intentions in the Middle East can never be other than malign and destabilising.” Sadly, the same could be said for Israel, the US, the UK, Syria, Russia and China. What’s your point?

This one comes a close second…notice the …but.
Holocaust denial is offensive, no doubt there. But equally offensive is the myth being created by the ‘Israelis’ and the world powerful Jewish Propaganda Machine, that Palestine never existed prior to the ‘goodwill gesture’ of Israel following the world pressure after the Yom Kippur War.Comments are off for this post
Food for presents?
Whether we like it or not Christmas is coming up really quickly and lets face it with all the parties that is being invited to time goes even faster. Well if you are not completely done with your shopping you could always go for Gourmet Gifts. They have one that is called Ole English Christmas Dinner which should go down a treat with those missing their English traditional dinner when they are off in the colonies.

Colby Cosh has uncovered a rather amusing film from YouTube (where else?) of Black Sabbath performing on a trailer at a parade in San Francisco surrounded by drag queens vogueing like they never heard of Madonna. It was filmed, alas with no sound and badly, but it well worth a view both for humourous qualities and its aspect of cultural history. Can you just imagine Ozzy’s reaction…

There is a site out there for those who live in the UK that are interested in getting a credit card or changing their cards from one bank or organisation to another. There are lots out there and getting through the chaff to find out exactlty what they are offering can sometimes be rather difficult. It is wise to look out for insidious things like banks that charge a large amount of fees to get your own money while abroad even if that means across the channel in France. You need to look into how they muck about with your interest rate after the initial sweet offer ends. The highest I have seen is a massive 17.5% interest rate which is just downright usery. Britons are having a lot of problems with high levels of debt right about now (sort of apeing their government) and anything that help you finds the pitfalls is a very good thing.
So when you head off get some info on UK credit cards it would be good idea to check out the site. Helpfully the site is called Card Guide in case you hard time finding it. And then again you don’t want to be one of those many people who got themselves into a bother by selecting the wrong card do you?
Comments are off for this postReflecting on the music piece
t might not strike anyone as terribly surprising who knows me but my piece on the music business for the ERC does have a bit of a crack at the BBC and their influence on the music business as a whole. As a libertarian it is really rather hard to justify the radio/TV tax that gives the BBC both the money and the power to dominate the airwaves in all forms. Little did I know that this would also affect the coverage of the piece by leading UK bloggers.
