What does Creamaid taste like?

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Technology

Well as its part of the ether probably nothing like water as that is the way it spreads across the internet. Its early days but it might just be a pretty neat way to have a chat. Such innovation is quite impressive to watch develop. I am not sure its working completely well right now but it is getting there.

Models cars & more

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Politics

Now there are a few reasons why having a den in a house would be a good thing for someone like me. I can think of no better reason, other than a place to store my 3000 or so CDs, than model cars to put on display. I would love to have a several of the cars sold on the site, not sure if I want a display case because it would mean I would not be able to touch and play with them.

I am sure that at least one of my fellows on this blog would love at least one of the cars or boats on that site. I could see one Jon P rather enjoying looking at a model of Nelson’s flag ship. You can even get a pretty neat pedal car for your little ‘uns if you wish.

Andrew elsewhere…

First of all in my guise as Marty I have reviewed the book How to Label a Goat by Ross Clark which has a good ole’ bash at Red Tape. One of my 100 word tales appears over at the Storyblogging Carnival which has a healthy number this fortnight. If you like a bit of short fiction its a good collection. One of Laurence’s tales read by my betrothed Kim Benson and produced by me is up over at Podcast Pickle, please give us a listen and a vote if possible.

And finally back that music pamphlet; there was an interesting piece on it over at the American Enterprise Institute entitled Creative Destruction the Musical. CB Music has also covered the piece. Oh it wasn’t mentioned in the COTV this week but I was.

While not my writing it does worry me to see Christopher Booker being censored by the Sunday Telegraph. The bits left out can be found here.

Lord Lawson nails Stern

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Envirofascism, The Media/BBC idiocies, UK Politics

Lord Lawson: If I had to sum up the Stern report in a single word, I would say it is fraudulent. You have to remember that Mr Blair was on this tack before the Stern Report, so he really had to have a report which validated the extreme opinion he had before. It’s rather like the dodgy dossier The Iraq War was Mr Blairs idea that he was going to save the world from terrorism by going to war in Iraq in order to do that he had to justify it and produce the dodgy dossier. That hasn’t worked out terribly well so he has changed tack. He now wants to save the plant from the horrors of global warning so Nicholas Stern has provided him with another dodgy dossier.

This is from an interview that Iain Dale did with Lord Lawson for 18 Doughty Street.

Iain gave a rather good speech at the ASI’s TNG last night. His fellow top blogger in the form of me got a bit of light hearted ribbing on various subjects but it was all in good fun. He did however promise to have me back on 18 Doughty Street which was good to hear.

Wedding favours

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

Planning for a wedding and all the assorted paraphenalia that goes with it can be a rather lengthy and expensive task I am learning rather quickly. It goes without saying that anything that helps reduce the cost is welcome. Obviously cheap wedding favors are a must for those wishing to give out something as a moment of of the event. They come in all shapes and sizes for all tastes both classic and a bit more unusual. Naturally I prefer something a bit more unusual, as we have done with our wedding invites and our wedding party waistcoats. I am looking forward to seeing both in their final form.

You got talent?

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Amusements, Music

And if you are young then the people at Channel 4 are interested in hearing from you. To wit I bring you this request from Totalrock:

Are you aged 18-25? If you have star quality, Channel 4 want to hear from you for a musical project happening next year. Please send demo, picture and biog to: T4 music show, Unit 74, 22 Notting Hill Gate, London W11 3JE

And lets face it some talent is better than most of the people that end up appearing on all the “make one a star” programs kicking around TV.

Mac Poker site…

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

Now many of us learned poker at university on many a cigar/pipe/beer filled night in the middle of winter. Those of you that have not had that kind of experience might want to head over and find out about poker rules. I love playing poker but tend to be fairly crap at it when playing for money. I am glad to learn about Mac poker sites. Quite a few of the other sites are terribly Mac friendly. If you want to get into poker make sure you know what you are doing it first whether you are playing online or off or for money or for fun.

Mission In Snowdriftland

December 06th, 2006 | Category: Games

snowdriftlandI’m not sure how Christmasey it is, but there’s snow and ice, so at least it fits the season. A Super Mario Bros. type of side-scroller, you’ll figure it out soon enough. Best of all, there are 24 levels, so if you conquer just one a day, you’ll have guaranteed entertainment up to—and including—the holy day itself. Plus four more days after. It’s kind of eerie the way that works out, don’t you think?

Warning: Music, etc.
