Chat show Andrew?

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Podcast

Well you knew it was going to happen sooner or later. And it isn’t like I have not been practicing for this sort of gig since my radio metal show at my alma malus in Maine. It just needed the right wee element to be found. That element comes in the form of one of the masters of the podcast and the 100 word tale Mr Laurence Simon. He will be my co-host on our new show which we will be wheeling out this Sunday at 9pm GMT, 4 pm est via Skypecast. This will be a bit of a pre-launch show to work out the kinks and see what works.

The show will live, without a safety net, and will be broadcast in the Gimme Liberty Bar in Second Life as well on Skype. If you have not tried Second Life its a free download and quite an interesting place to go explore or just hang out.

The show will discuss liberty all around the world(s) both real and virtual. I can assure you that some of the real world politics will have a profound effect on Second Life.

We are to call it Lagwolf & Crap and I can’t wait to get started. With Laurence & I involved you know there is going to be a serious slice of humour as well.

Look here for further announcements.

PS: Please send us you issue suggestions via this site or Laurence’s.

Flash drives for gifts…

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Politics

This lot offer a cool alternative to useless and/or boring Christmas gifts for your loved ones and friends. How about giving your favourite computer user one of the many types of engraved flash drives offered by Pexagontech. You have a choice of up to 4mb with these handy drives, I think I have about 6 of them of various sizes, including my three iPod shuffles, depending on how much data your computer user needs to move around.

They are small, handy and very useful for taking stuff back and forth. I tend to use mine to transfer MP3s of my own band’s music when we are working on them. It gives me a warm fuzzy to have our newest song with me when I head home.

Smoke em’ if you got em’

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Political Correctness, Politics

And give a two (or one) fingered salute to all those health fascists out there who want to deny the right to smoke what you like when you like. I am talking about the type like this load of wankers. I wonder if those morons realise how much tobacco taxes contribute to the treasury? Do they realise how their constituents would suffer if people didn’t smoke? Never mind the fact that smokers aide the health service by dying earlier than everyone else.

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Political Correctness, Stuff

With every place in the US getting more and more fascistic about booze and driving its good to know that there people like San Diego DUI attorney to help you get off. We all know how keen some cops are to bust people for DUI even if its because of taking cough syrup before driving. This guy not only has some good victories under his belt he has a handy page discussing your potential defences.

New Weird Al video

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Amusements, Music

And its rather funny. The combo of Wierd Al & JibJab pure genius. My bandmate Rob has just discovered the joys of Wierd Al via his latest album. Of course, I have known Al since his first attempts at humour for the Dr Demento show in the 80s. The man is comic genius and just gets better with age. It is rather good that there is so much to mock in pop these days.

Rocker vs Rapper

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Music

The Rocker seems to have got the better of the Rapper and seeing as its that odious Ms Dynamite its even better.

Ms. Dynamite was injured Sunday while filming U.K. reality show “The Race.” A car driven by AC/DC singer Brian Johnson clipped the U.K. rapper’s vehicle while she was going about 100 mph, causing the crash.

Via: Classic Rock Newswire and its good to hear Johnson was not injured.

Animator vs. Animation

November 16th, 2006 | Category: Video

Alan Becker’s Animator vs. Animation (above) was an amusing story of an animated stick figure at war with its creator, trashing his Flash software in the process. Now he’s come out with the sequel, where the little monster destroys the rest of his computer.

Link. Note that it isn’t embedded—you’ll need to click on the “watch film” button at the left (and sit through a short commercial) to play it. Warning: Sound effects.
