Bring us your podcasts…

November 15th, 2006 | Category: Blog gos, Podcast

In my continous curiosity about the various carnivals I have discovered that the Carnival of Podcasts has ceased to be. I have decided it might be interesting to revive this carnival to see what kind of podcasts bloggers are getting up to. So here goes:

The deadline is Saturday night at midnight eastern standard time. The carnival will appear on this blog sometime on Sunday.

Please use Blogcarnival for submitting your podcasts.

New search engine

November 15th, 2006 | Category: Blog gos

There is a new search engine vying for your attention and searches its Megaglobe – International Search Engine and it aims to knock Google off it perch as king of all search engines. The plan is to have the site available in an impressive 45 languagues and claims to want to represent the whole world. Presumably they believe Google to be too US centric.

Its early days for the search engine but they also plan to challenge Adsense and the other useless website adverts schemes. They claim to be for the webmaster as opposed I suspect to being far more keen on the advertiser than making money for the poor sap with the advert taking up space on their site. We love competition at this blog.

Why We Need More Women In Politics

beckettBecause they have their priorities in order:

On Thursday, Margaret Beckett, the Foreign Secretary, compared climate sceptics to advocates of Islamic terror. Neither, she said, should have access to the media.

Well, that, and because it gives people who look like Princess Anne in drag something to do.

All Hallows Eve…a tale…

November 15th, 2006 | Category: Andrew's Tales

NB: If you would prefer to hear me read the tale in a Welsh accent its part of this week’s Dodging Reality podcast.

All Hallows Eve was a special time in the little Hamlet not far north of St Davids, Pembrokeshire. Despite protestations from some in the area; Halloween was not an American invention but part of the heritage of all those who were Welsh from way back. Even the costumes were part of the ritual of the night when the spirits of the dead walked among those of the living. It was not a night to be feared despite what the local Christian chapel maintained. The night was one to celebrate the past and ones ancestors. It was a time to reestablish the chain of history from beginning to now.

I heart PPP

November 15th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

While there have been some growing pains with PayPerPost of late, we at Dodgeblogium still enjoy the bunch of nutters that have made writing for this blog just a wee bit more profitable and rewarding. Their own brand of blog advertising has attracted praise and vicious criticism yet continues to enthuse its loyal “posties” who keep coming back day after day for more. I think the one thing that I rather adore about PPP is the fact that is gets up the noses of the holier than thou bloggers and technoweenies in a rather special way. They act as if its some great conspiracy against readers of blogs. The amount of ire PPP has attracted has convinced me that they must be on to a good thing. I rather resent being told what I can and can’t do with my blog. Each one of my PPP posts in a good ole’ English two fingered salute to the PPP critics.

Be a PPP postie…be a blogging rebel!
