Daley on BNP paranoia
Janet Daley has another excellent piece on the hysteria from Brown over the fact that Nick Griffin of the BNP got let after being railroaded by the BBC. Bringing in new laws because you don’t agree with a judgement from the courts is both dangerous and idiotic. Nick Griffin is an odious oik but he has the right to say what he wishes in a private meeting of his followers. I wonder what the BBC would hear if they went into certain Mosques in the UK and would they have pushed for the same sort of case?

The frightening thing is that now in the UK, the government, on two occasions has tried to prosecute two people for what was said in ‘private’ and ‘behind closed doors’. Not only that, but on failing to get a guilty verdict they basically stated that they will attempt to change the law so that the next time they will succeed. Do I have to watch what I say in my own home now?
If I was a muslim marching down the street burning the Union Jack and spouting anti British hate, it would be a different matter.
And, how can I write to my M.P’s about my concern when it is they who are attempting to turn this country into a police state. I would only be providing evidence for a possible future conviction.
Nick Griffin, by his actions, has only postponed the inevitable.
If you think my view is extreme, then try to remember the two British blokes who were arrested and prosecuted under the same law for comments posted on an ‘American’ forum.
