PPP vs cynics

November 30th, 2006 | Category: Bloody insane stuff, Politics

PPP has asked us to a humourous video about a battle between PPP with whom you get get paid for blogging and one of their many possible adversaries. Considering the crap they have been taking from little purist techie oiks there is only one obvious bout for me to talk about. So enjoy my slightly nutty mind as I take you to a fight that will have you expressing some emotion. Not quite sure which.

Recycling= Bullshit…

November 30th, 2006 | Category: Bloody insane stuff, Political Correctness, UK Politics

As you all know well, we love to recycle on this site. We do a wonderful line in recycling snide remarks about envirofascists and their campaign to ruin our economies. Well Penn & Teller have this rather good show on Showtime simply called Bullshit! and they turn their attention to envirofascists and their attempts to try to convince us that recycling actually does a cintilla of good for the enviroment and isn’t a colossal waste of time, energy and money. LibertarianHome has the full show for your viewing pleasure. I wonder if there is any way to get self-professer “tosser” Cameron to watch it?

No wonder the baby in the show is crying; her mother wipes her arse with recycled toilet paper…ouch!

Censors a-coming and how to get round ‘em?

November 30th, 2006 | Category: Political Correctness, Technology

Considering the noises come from some circles in the UK like those calling for self-regulation of blogs at a recent Council on Racial Equality Race convention its a good thing that this piece of kit will soon be available. The piece of software, called psiphon allows uncensored access to the internet. While some of you might think I am being a bit paranoid about the UK government, I would urge caution. How often has it occured that a call for self-regulation of an industry has not inevitably led to government meddling? How about never? Oh yes and the Home Office is eyeing blogs as well.

I already know of seveal ISPs who ban this site for some content or other they deem not to their liking.

November 29th, 2006 | Category: Bloody insane stuff

That is what happens if you misbehave when trying to get in the country why not if you are here illegally?

Good boss..yeah

November 29th, 2006 | Category: Technology

I have to say my boss is rather reasonable and decent, then again he is me. Appraisal Software probably would not do me much use but it could be useful for rating some of the people I have done freelance work for. You know the ones who promise lots and deliver sod all? The only trouble with not doing a normal job is the fact that you can find yourself working all the time when things pile up. I have been known to work 7 days straight on a writing project before and the week after next I am going to a conference…virtually, at 2am local time. There are times I long for a bit more consistency in my working life, but could I actually stand the normality and predictability?

Flog yer used car

November 29th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

I love the name of this site, its so simple and obvious, but still brilliant. The site, Lemonfree.com is a classified listings site for Used Cars. You list your car for sale, for nothing on their fully searchable site. Its clean, clear with fast loading pages and little or no extraneous mess down the sides. The site, as they say in this country, does what it says it does. You can post up to 10 pictures of your auto you want to flog so that your buyer can see the car in great detail. No fuss or over-complexity, just a simple way to see your car.

Links…dogs (real) and wild dogs (humans)

November 28th, 2006 | Category: Blog gos

Its the Carnival of the Dogs and speaking of dogs…its seems Egyptian men acted like wild dogs and sexually molested any women they could find. You can find the whole story on SNN with an interview with Egyptian blogger Sandmonkey. It seems the authorities are not terribly pleased with Egytian bloggers exposing this disgraceful event. On that note, help free Kareem; by signing the petition.

Libertarians get with the program…

November 28th, 2006 | Category: Blog gos, UK Politics

Yes the UK based Libertarian Alliance has finally got itself a blog, it seems some of its senior members inherent snobishness about the internet has been overcome and they have joined the foray. Welcome lads, better late than never and all that!

The other new Libertarian site has an interesting piece about the limits of right-of-centre “social justice” as being peddled by Camoron and his ilk.

On an interesting subject; Threshers is targeting bloggers with a viral discount voucher, if you spend up to 500. Via Tim.

Book worm me?

November 28th, 2006 | Category: Amusements, Politics

I found this via the Flea. What is most interesting to me is that the list in the quiz which ask you to pick a line of which you had read all the books. I can honestly say that I had read all the books in all the choices. I try to read quite a bit but then again I am actually writing quite a bit which does rather get in the way of reading. I am currently reading something called Blood Eagle which involves blood sacrifice and Vikings in modern day Germany.

The Package

November 28th, 2006 | Category: Games

package
Ugh. What a day. The power was out most of the afternoon, which kind of puts a crimp in one’s computer activities. Then the power came back on and the smoke alarm shortly went off in celebration. This is one of the type that runs on the house current and I assumed that it was on a separate circuit. If a fire destroys the breaker panel, you don’t want to lose the alarm protection with it. An ear-splitting search for a breaker or fuse for it turned up nothing, though, so it was back to the main panel flicking (the unmarked) switches until I found the one that controlled it.

Then, of course, I had to go and reset all the clocks, etc., that I’d previously reset when the power came back on.

So that you might have some glimpse of the frustration I’ve had, I drop into your laps The Package. It’s a bomb that you’ve got fifteen minutes to defuse. The picture shows the second screen—the first requires you to find a 4-digit combination. It’s easy, though. Just check each number as you enter it. Once the green light comes on, go to the next dial.

Warning: Music and sfx.

Get yer furniture on

November 28th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

Some sites talk about a huge selection of product, well this lot certainly have a huge selection of dining room furniture with page after page of it. Now ordering this type of furniture might be a bit odd to some even downright scary at first. The site with its discounts and professionalism makes shopping for dining room furniture online quick, easy and inexpensive (they even have an 800 number). You might want to get a wiggle on however, if you want something for Christmas as today is the deadline to get it to you in time to show it off to your Christmas guests.

John Edwards - Hypocrite

November 27th, 2006 | Category: New Hampshire Primaries, Politics

As presidential hopeful John Edwards makes the rounds in an effort to drum up support, he has yet again shot himself in the foot.

The supporter of a number of anti-WalMart watchdog groups, most of which are organs of organized labor, first tripped up when a staffer tried to conjole WalMart in to making sure that Edwards got one of the few Sony Playstation 3’s.

In an effort to show his disdain of the international retailer, Edwards scheduled a book signing in a Barnes & Noble in Manchester, NH. This particular B & N is located in front of a WalMart. So how is this a mis-step by Edwards?

“Wal-Mart makes plenty of money. They need to pay their people well,” Edwards said at a Pittsburgh anti-Wal-Mart rally in August.

So naturally Edwards is holding his book signing at Barnes & Noble instead of Wal-Mart. Which is too bad for his anti-low-wages campaign, because in Manchester Wal-Mart pays hourly employees more than Barnes & Noble does.

The Barnes & Noble where Edwards will hawk his book pays $7 an hour to start. The Wal-Mart that sits just yards away pays $7.50 an hour.

Oh, the humanity!

So the presidential wannabe that has it in for WalMart because he believes that it doesn’t pay its employees a fair wage instead patronizes a national retailer that pays its employees less than WalMart.

Don’t Screw it Up! I agree with him that the Islamoloons are far more important for all of us to worry about than the minimum wage or any of their other slighly daft domestic ideas. You get the former wrong the rest of the issues won’t matter a damn. He manages to give a nod to America Alone as well in most glowing terms.

Borat in trouble now…

November 27th, 2006 | Category: Amusements

It seems the gypsies have vowed to put a stake up him for poking fun at them not the best thing for SBC to find out now that he just got engaged. Not only will be recieving curses and death threats they are taking more earthly steps and suing him for 15 million pounds for decieving them. The fact they want to treat him like they do a vampire is most amusing. Well First Post has interesting piece reflecting on Borat and his take on anti-semitism.

Speaking of in trouble…I got the anti-abortion zealots upset at me for daring to disagree with their uber-hard line. Self-righteous indignation alert! Oh the one about gambling in schools is a laugh as wel.

Slavery…

November 27th, 2006 | Category: Political Correctness, Politics

Instead of doing his we’re sorry bit about slavery in the 19th century surely it would be a better idea for Blair to focus the world attention on human trafficing which CNN now considers “worse than African slavery”. There is still slavery in the world in places like Africa still (see the evil White man stopping their trade in slaves didn’t end it at all) as well as the Middle East. As one might expect with such a subject its another matter of political correctness. Its hard to highlight the fact that Africans are still slavers, as they were way back when, and that Muslims/Arabs in the Middle East have never stopped slaving. I love how some in the political correct brigade like glossing over the fact that it was Africans themselves who sold other Africans into slavery. It was not the white man that went into Africa and grabbed them; it was African tribes selling them to the white man on the coast. Instead of sycophantically grovelling over the long-distant past how about paying attention to the slavery that is happening in the world right now.

On a related note would it shock anyone to read that Saddam was slaving Kurds as well as slaughtering them? But overthrowing him was a bad thing right stoppers?

DT has a leader on the subject and there are some good letters as well.

Oh no…well First Post in getting into the spirit of this and asking for Italians to apologise for the abuses of the Roman Empire in the British Isles.

Find yer car

November 27th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

First of all you have to admire the guys who came up with the name for this site. Its called Lemonfree.com and wait for it, its a classified site for New & Used Cars. Its one of those names for a site where I ask myself why I didn’t come up with the idea. They even have a cute logo that you can see below here. The site lets you list your auto New or Used for free which is a nice touch. You can post up to 10 pictures of your auto to be sold so that your buyer can get to know all aspects of the vehicle.

More details on his site as well as other dates round the country. His MySpace profile is quite good and its a great source of info about the rather clever and damn funny man. Why the hell do they not give this guy a telly show? Lord knows it would better than the pants that was Jam & Jerusalem.

Janet Daley gets it…

November 27th, 2006 | Category: Anti-Semitism/Jewery, ROPMA, Terrorism

And again has produced an erudite and well written piece on the true agenda of the Islamists. Needless to say the rent-a-cry of Islamophobe/Christians are far worse brigade are already out in force. As she quite rightly says it will be interesting to see what impact the visit of Benedict to Turkey will have on Islamic relations in Europe. Methinks the good relations between Germans and Turks that existed in the early 20th century has rather ebbed a bit in the light of Benedict’s quotation of previous Pope on the nature of Islam. Rather than pay attention to some daft contest is Oz surely Britons should be looking East to carefully watch Europe’s eastern border.

And then again so does Michael Burleigh. He makes the point even better than does Janet.

Wanna move to Las Vegas?

November 27th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

If you are looking to buy Las Vegas real estate there is a good site to help you do such a thing. Now I tend to have fairly cosmopolitan friends and the subject of buying outside of one’s home country comes up rather often and Las Vegas is mentioned as a possible destination. In fact several of them own flats and even business outside of their home country or local area. It can be tricky with differing laws, taxes and ways of doing things if you are moving to a new place. You can search for ,ahref=”http://www.millionsaver.com/rentals/”>Rentals or Resale Homes. So if you are looking for Las Vegas real estate head on over and take a look.

Venezuelans rally for the last time?

November 27th, 2006 | Category: Politics

Well the opponents of the terrorist/dictator loving Chavez might not get another chance to do this again whether or not they win or lose. Its the largest rally ever seen in the country. One does hope, as does Gene over at Harry’s Place, that Rosales wins the forthcoming election in Venezuela. The blog linked above is a great insight in the current state of Chavez’s dominion.
