Belgian election gets interesting…
There has been a strong growth in the vote for the anti-immigration/seperatist party the Vlaams Block in Belgium. The Liberal Democrats are not doing so well. Expect much gnashing of teeth from the MSM about the rise of the “far-right”.
Our mates at Simply Jews have more on the party. They are the only other blog I can find even interested in the Belgian elections.
Comments are off for this postJeremy Brett is surely the greatest Sherlock Holmes ever
One of the advantages of getting digital TV in recent weeks has been my ability to catch up with re-runs of television series such as the Sherlock Holmes programmes, starring Jeremy Brett. Brett, a versatile actor, is mesmerising in the role. He gets across the fact that Conan-Doyle’s creation trod a fine line between intellectual genius and madness. I have not seen anything in crime fiction that comes close. I am a fan of the Raymond Chandler Philip Marlowe adventures and Roger Simon’s Moses Wine sagas, and it is good to be reminded of the fact that Sherlock Holmes, accompanied by his faithful friend Doctor Watson, remains the greatest of them all.

Check out Tim Draper’s nice little song called TheRiskmaster and recorded it. Its more sung than spoken but has a nice bit of music behind it. Sometimes the rhyming is a bit reaching but any song that is not rap and has the word quixotic in it can’t be all that bad now can it? So shuffle over to his site and give it a listen. Its nice to see someone writing a song that at least to me seems pro-capitalism. I am sure we can all think of people like the bloke in the song…Donald Trump and Richard Branson come to mind for instance.
Will be interesting to see if PPP is a good way of marketing music.

Cordite lovers have their carnival as do dog lovers. Brittish bloggers have a lot to blog about this week Tim has their best bits. Naturally there is a BOMS for older post goodness.
Comments are off for this postThe case of Nirj & Maude
No its not a new sit-com on the BBC; it describes a contrestemp between two leading lights in the Conservative Party.
Word comes to me from Woflie that Francis Maude, the Tory Party Chairman, was pinned to the wall by Nirj Deva MEP after he was unable to get a pass to get into to give a speech at conference. Nirj was seen poking Maude in the chest.
I am sure those in the long queues and those denied passes outright, who were veteran conference junkies, must have agreed with Nirj’s actions.

There is a nifty new application for your mobile phone that allows you to download coupons and use them at loads of locations that you shop at. Instead of having to carrying around pieces of paper you can download them at any time on your phone and show the coupon at the till. And as you choose to get the coupons it is not annoying “push” text messages aka spam; its done at your leisure and by your choice. The service is called Cellfire and you can Get Your Free Copy of Cellfire to Start Saving Today at their website. You don’t even have to visit their website; you may get the service by simply texting sending a text message to 22888. As you can tell from the name the service is US based so those of you who are in the UK will not be able to participate.
I think this is a neat idea because I am one who always has coupons that I either lose, leave behind or simply forget about until they are useless. What I most loath is when I ended up going somewhere on the spur of the moment realising that I have a voucher or coupon for it sitting at home.
