Bottle (Un)capper

September 18th, 2006 | Category: Games, Video

bottlecapsA shoot-’em-up. I at first thought that the object was to break all the bottles. This is what happens when you don’t read the instructions.

What you’re trying to do is shoot the caps off the bottles. So you see, it’s not mindless violence. It’s a contest of skill.

Unlike this way of opening bottles, which, frankly, is insane.

Baby rockers…

September 18th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

I am getting to that age where even the most reluctant of my friends is finally settling down, getting married and/or having children. When the latter happens one really needs to buy a gift. So I have been developing an interest in cool baby clothes and a site like Tiny Rocker seems to fit the bill perfectly. The fact that certain types are whingeing about the fact some parents don’t like to put their children in the traditional blue and pink naff baby clothes makes it all the more attractive to me. Anyone that offers parents choice in what they deck their baby out in is fine by me. Why should you be only one with cool clothes?

At war with Emo?

September 18th, 2006 | Category: Music

Yes I know most emocore is complete and utter whingeing rubbish but the paranoia as expressed by some about the genre is a bit ott. Jim White has written an interesting piece about the hysteria from some quarters about the music. As with goth in the 80s there are those who claim it leads to suicide or worse. And NME is having a snit about it as well. Don’t the blithering fools realise that teenagers are attracted to Emo because it upsets them?

Car stereos…

September 18th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

It has been a while since I owned a car and in London I mainly stuck to public transport. One thing that does continue to amaze me in the advancements in car audio these days. I was just watching a report on all the nifty things you get with a new Dodge Caliber. Whether it be the fact that when travelling you don’t have to worry about “dead” zones (generally filled with old country & ranting preachers) when travelling long distances thanks to satellite radio or the fact most vehicles comes with an iPod plug in the front of the stereo these days. The site under the links is a great source for information all aspects of modern in-car entertainment (lets face it; its a hell of a lot more than a radio these days). A hell of a long way from my one speaker radio in my Spitfire that is for sure.

Muslims leave US…

September 18th, 2006 | Category: ROPMA, Terrorism

That is not coming from so-called Islamophobes but from Al Queda who are warning Muslims to leave the US lest they get wrapped up in new attacks. Meanwhile the media is concentrating on helping Muslims with their outrage at comments made by the Pope at an academic gathering; which were naturally completely taken out of context.
