It cometh a week later…

August 15th, 2006 | Category: Announcements

Those of you who have heard about my latest piece of writing for a think-tank, this time for the ERC will have to wait for an extra week for its release. It will now come out at the end of this month. One does have to hope that certain excitable types won’t do anything alarming around that time. It is always so depressing when you launch something you have worked hard only to have everyone distracted.

No cigars but burning jews is fine…

August 15th, 2006 | Category: Anti-Semitism/Jewery, Humor, Joek, Politics, ROPMA, Terrorism

I mentioned the Mel Smith cigar ban incident in Edinburgh in my latest TCS piece. Well it seems you can’t smoke in an act but you can have an act full of jew-hatred and gags about the holocaust. Tim Blair reports on the acts who are enbracing the jihadist market.

What me worry?

August 15th, 2006 | Category: ROPMA, Terrorism, UK Politics

John Prescott MP (DPM and he of “perving her melons”) is meeting with Muslim MPs this afternoon to discuss the situation in the UK right viz Muslims and the rest of us. Actually considering how well at least one of them speaks the language, or rather doesn’t, they should get on quite well with Prezza.

They also have a review on a Dustbuster tha an engine the site of Smart car’s. They also have stuff like this piece of kit which I think every house should own: Sportsman Multi-Plier which I can tell you from personal experience is a great father’s day present.

Against Multiculturalism…

August 15th, 2006 | Category: ROPMA, Terrorism

And from a Bishop of the Church of England no less! Michael Nazir-Ali, Bishop of Rochester has written an interesting and thought-provoking piece on why Muslim youths are so radicalised these days. And instead of laying blame elsewhere he lays it exactly where it should be. Would that he be listened to more than his flaky cryto-marxist bretheren. Just as with Cameron’s hug a hoodie idea; certain members of the senior clergy’s hug an Islamist is daft and bound to do more harm than good.

Alternate Student Loans

August 15th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

I am not sure how many budding college students I have reading this blog but I might suggest they check out this lot if they are in need of a Alternative Student Loan.com. These are Private Student Loans that provide a good alternative to the government schemes available. Looking for a student loan is an important choice as much so as selecting a college or university to go to if not more so. If you are paying money back you want to be able to trust those that are handling it for you. It should be as flexible as possible enabling you to pay it back whenever and however you can. Now granted I have no plans to go back to university right now but it would be nice to know some of my young readers are not going to make some of the mistakes I made when it came to my education.

Physician, Heal Thyself

August 15th, 2006 | Category: Drugs, Sex

Are you sitting down? Because I’ve just heard of this new disease, and man, it sounds bad:

Specifically, the Conference seeks to:

expand public awareness of the continued impact of and global response to HIV/AIDS

Who knew? Hang on, I think I’ve uncovered what they call a “vector”:

Safer sex. If you are sexually active while in Toronto, be sure to practice safer sex. Free condoms are available at the Health Clinic and in the PLWHA Lounge.

Safer drug use. If you use prescription or non-prescription injection drugs, always use new equipment (needles, filters, sterile water, stems for smoking crack, etc.) Free safer drug use equipment will be available at the The Harm Reduction Networking Zone in the Global Village or you can call The Works at Toronto Public Health 416 392-0520 for information on where else you can access free safer drug use supplies.

which would be—if you can’t keep it in your pants, let alone suppress your other appetites over a six-day, ostensibly scientific, meeting; then, maybe, just maybe it might be you are part of the problem.

Sand Dollars at your wedding?

August 15th, 2006 | Category: Stuff

Have you ever thought of Sand Dollars as something to have at your wedding? Well Quality Shells has a whole range of sand dollars to brighten up you wedding place cards and wedding favours. They are perfect if you are having a beach themed wedding somewhere tropical or even in your local hotel. Needless to say if you are sending them in the post you need to take care that they don’t smash en route. In fact it would be a good idea to get the PO to “hand stamp” the package.

I am helping to plan a wedding, which I understand is very 00’s, so I am thinking about these things.
