Lieberman’s site hacked…
His opponents really hate him don’t they?
Update: Poor sod lost to that tosser Lamont. The Dems in CT have seriously gone loopy. It looks as if he is going run as an independent; there are even rumours that the Republicans might endorse him.
Update: Joe has all the latest in reaction to the events of Tuesday.

A Lex has discovered translations of the advice Putin gave to Cthulhu’s followers in his latest online chat. The guy kisses little children’s tummies and waxed poetic about Cthulhu.

This week our contributors have chosen to have a rest; well Lair is around in the guise of 100 word host, so its down to me, Marty and Growing Old Disgracefully to pick up the slack. Enjoy some editorialising, some music and a whole lot of beer.

As always if you want to do us a piece of less than 5 minutes and in mp3 format send it to the address to the left.

NB: I found out Sen Collins rant about mail-order tobacco from this thread on As Maine Goes.
Comments are off for this postLow light good?
As I sit here at my desk next to my kitchen I am perenially battling the light. The Kitchen lighting can be too bright during the day and not enough at night. But at least its better than the over-head lighting which is always too bright. Of course, in my daftness I write sitting next to a window which gets most of the day’s sun. What might be rather good is for someone to develop lights that sense the amount of light in the room and adjust themselves. Until then I really need to see if I can get some new light fixtures for the kitchen. When you work at home you find out that most dwellings are rubbish for working in.
Calling All Heathens
Here’s an easy way to add a fully-functional Google map to your blog or webpage. Why you would want to do that I don’t know. It’s your blog, after all, and one day you’ll have to answer to your spouse and/or God about it.
Click here, then on the red WikiMapia button at the upper right of the page, then on the “Map on
your page” dropdown option. A box will appear that you can drag to the location that
you want (you can zoom in to the maximum resolution and also resize the borders to
whatever rectangular shape you like). Cut and paste the HTML code into your page and there you go.
It’s unnatural, I tell you. If we were meant to study roofs from such a height, we
would have been equipped with stilts.
Warning: Music and sound effects. It’s a quite large QuickTime file, so you might want to let it buffer for a few seconds before clicking the Play button.
Energy usage…
Now any of your readers of mine who are at all regular know that I am not the keenest on the enviro-loon enviromental “movement” as currently exists. Much of what annoys me is the fact that enviromentalists are statists wrapped in green. Instead of making their case to individuals they routinely go to government and encourage to raise taxes & regulation on individuals and business.
Well OurEnergy.us is an exception to this trend. They are instead helping individuals find out how well their favourite companies do in saving energy. “Green surfing” as they put it. The site goes on about global warming; something of which I have found the case for it wanting. I am more of Bjorm Lomberg type sceptic.
Then an individual can make a decision whether or not to patronise that company or not. And to their credit this service mentions dependency on foreign oil as well as enviromental reasoning. I believe that the US and the West in general needs to reduce its dependency on unstable countries in the Middle East and make more of an effort to utilise its own resources whether they be in Alaska, the North Sea or off the coast of the Falklands.
The key thing to the site is that it is a case of individuals doing something rather than people being forced to do something. Go check it out and have a go.
