Cthulhu real?

August 02nd, 2006 | Category: Andrew's Cthulhu tales, Religion

This lot seem to think so as the ignore the fact that Lovecraft repeated asserted that he made his mythos up. They seem to believe it was all a big cover-up and conspiracy.

Of course at least one of my blog readers is convinced I really am a werewolf so nothing shocks me.

Andrew at GBBF

As the ASI lot were going anyway; I tagged along with Madsen, Eeamon, Steve et al to try a few beers on offer. I did my bit for the cause by wearing my GoD golf shirt.

I am off again on Thursday evening with Kim and “the usual suspects” to see M3 (aka classic Whitesnake sans Coverdale) and have a few more odd ales. If you are in the London area and want to join us we should be there from about 5 or so.

The Killer Delete Select All

August 02nd, 2006 | Category: Technology

The voice-recognition (VR) software to be bundled with Windows Vista would seem to be in need of a few tweaks. (Warning: Clip above is from a TV program.)

I’ve never had occasion to use it (I mean VR generically), but people who do—mainly the blind, but also others who might have to take notes while not having the use of their hands, like doctors—find it a more robust technology than this. I don’t know if Microsoft is developing something from scratch or trying to integrate some third-party VR with Vista.

Whatever, this thing is likely going to touch off World War III: “No, no! I said ‘Hire Jim Thistle,’ not ‘Fire Missile!’”
