OK, I Finally Found The Blonde
The actress Jessica Alba, unless I miss my guess. I’ve never actually seen one of her movies, so I must demur on commenting on her thespianism.
Though, frankly, I don’t give a damn.
Sorta Safe For Work (bikini shot—I also did a bit of color correction on it—bring me pink girls, or bring me . . . well, I’m in no position to negotiate. So bring me orange girls. Purple? Whatever. Hello? Hello?) here.
And here’s a link to the Marie Claire story (tragically, none of the photographs are evident) that triggered this post. It’s worth reading, because she really comes across as an intelligent, funny (and sexy, if that needs to be highlighted) woman.

That doesn’t mean that I’m not going to keep on looking.
Warning: NSFW link. My preemptive apologies to the lovely young model, Josie Maranzouk (I think that that’s the correct spelling) for copyright infringement, etc. Also, she is all elbows and angles, or as Anthony Burgess memorably remarked, the equivalent of taking a bicycle to bed.
But O! those elbows! O! Those angles!

Buy Danish and show solidarity against Muslim thuggery and bullying. The Palestinians have got in on the act too. Its all over those Mohammed Cartoons.
You can show your support with a t-shirt as well. Catallarchy is very keen on this drive to buy Danish as well. Comments are worth reading for the long comment from a Dane. Perry has posted on the subject as well; with a round-up of Sam’s previous posts on the subject.
It seems there is Cyberjihad going on; and Haganah has more.

Oh yeah and Clinton is siding against the Danish!
And to think this is just over a bunch of bloody Danish cartoons. And to think some of us are upset about Iran wanting to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.
If you still haven’t seen the cartoons yet they can be found here.
2 commentsAnd Now, The Blonde
Redhead? check! Brunette? check! Blonde . . . blonde . . . I seem to have mislaid my blonde picture. I must have had a blonde moment. Though I assure you, she was very hot.
In the meantime, “Monique”! (Or whatever you’d choose to call her. If I had the time, I’d Photoshop her overexposed thumb. Or maybe not. It depends on which purposes “she” proposes to put it. Ohmigod. I’d never thought of . . . the bottle opener).
And if you are dumb enough to click on the NSFW link: Well, you probably didn’t need that job anyway.
NSFW link here.
Update: It has been called to my attention that I “accidentally” put up the Paint Shop Pro “attempt” at avoiding “Monique”’s “naughty” “bits”. I assure you that this is not the case. If “Monique” had “naughty” “bits,” I would be pleased to show them. With “her” “permission,” of course.

Wonder if Matt Welch’s arrival at the paper had anything to do with it.

Chapter 21
Jess was well onto her third cup of coffee by the time she figured out what was actually bothering her. “of course she cried!” Her cry was audible, but for fortunately only the elderly and very proper couple sitting nearby. They pretended to ignore her outburst, or was it that they just didn’t hear her. Jess reached into her pocket for the Eurodex card and phone number as she move quickly over to the telephone.
Clive, Andrew and TM spent most of the morning and into the afternoon chatting about events, recent and past. TM and Andrew were careful to let Clive lead the discussion so as not to upset him. Since Jess left he had seemed particularily concerned, about what, only he knew.
Never has remembering been more important…
Holocaust Memorial Day: Today marks 61 years since the end of the Holocaust and the murder of six million Jews.
The Holocaust is the most radical, most monstrous expression of hatred of the Jews: a hatred which has accompanied the people of Israel since the beginning of time. Acting Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert (26/1/06)

David has some suggestions for the German media so they don’t look as though they are completely anti-American. Doubt they will listen however.

Hughes - “I am not a gayer . . .”
” . . . but some of my boyfriends might have been. ”
Simon “I want a Hughes one” Hughes, said to be the members’ top choice for Lib Dem leader has finally come out of the closet. Or rather the closet has collapsed around his ears.
That would be the Simon Hughes who was elected in the Bermondsey by-election following a vicious homophobic campaign against Labour candidate Peter Tatchell? Well, yes.
That would be the same Simon Hughes that last week denied being gay? Er, yes again.
It is not for his taste in partners that we should condemn him. It is the utter hypocrisy of his various statements and behaviour over the years. At least Charles Kennedy had the decency to resign after being caught lying about his drink problem.

3 commentsElections today in ‘Palestine’
There is gonna be a lot to read out there on the election today in the West Bank and Gaza, but with exit polls showing Fatah with 46% to Hamas’ 39.5% + refusal to renounce their armed struggle, things will get interesting. In short, I see that having legitimated the political process, Hamas will find that in the long run it will have no choice but to moderate its actions, if not its rhetoric. Olmert has already hinted that he is prepared to talk if their stance changes significantly. He will have no choice, even if Hamas remains on the US’ and EUs terrorist lists. This is ‘facts-on-the-ground’ going the other way, but they become less of a danger if part of the political process. They are better positioned than Arafat and Fatah have ever been as they have in place social infrastructure and do not share the reputation for corruption. (That the term ‘corruption’ cannot apply to a group so far limitedly involved in politics is not the issue), and if they do not deliver on creating jobs and collecting the trash, then they wil have ended up shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak.
Nevertheless, it is fun to pick out the early ironies:
Samer Lulu, 29, said he voted for Hamas because he was tired of corruption.2 comments“With religious people at least we will have our public money in clean hands,” AP news agency quoted him as saying.

1 commentThey did it…
The Canadian Conservatives did what the UK version have not managed in three straight elections…they won! Now granted it was not a crushing defeat for the Liberals but at least they got rid of that nitwit Martin. Well done to all the Tory bloggers for their excellent coverage of the campaign and the election. Kudos to Frank for helping the Canuck Tories win the election.
