John Lennon’s death, 25 years on.
Unlike some of my buddies, I don’t get all upset that the media are marking the 25th anniversary of John Lennon’s murder in New York, but for goodness sake, it was the third news item on the BBC 6 pm news slot this evening in a fairly busy night for important news, starting with the Law Lord ruling on torture. Lennon was a fine musician, had some good lyrics but I find the veneration bizarre. His comments on world affairs were frequently naive and as my fellow blogger Andrew Ian Dodge has remarked elsewhere, often showed a shocking ignorance of the aims of the some of the causes he championed.

Is this the type of rhetoric we want to hear from a good friend of London’s Mayor? The one who is supposed to be so caring & sharing about Jews? Or at least that is what he claims.

Pink kiddie fingers tearing softly at unyielding wire:
Let us out, cos learnings our desire.
Little heaps of junk food trash mark hours of tearing fence,
In vain they call to passers-by, their faces pleading, tense:
No passer-by dare help kids desprate to escape5
or Paedophile! The cryll go up and Witch hunt! Its child rape!
Get us out! And feed us up on fish n chips and maths;
We cant survive a dozen years, learn rubbish and eat trash.
The State Schools wired like fortress grim,
Where brainwashed kids are sure to sink and sink not swim.10
Theyre bored to tears with Misses play darent struggle to be free,
Else Ritalin the State drug cosh will earn the Psychos fee.
Die Kommandantins a sweet faced dyke, as all you lads will know,
Shell feminise small lags: no sports for boys. Dont throw
A tantrum, or shell kick you out, like mums did with yer Dads:15
The State wants all you boys to be just lassies, no more lads.
Your Dads cant help theyre banned from home and access is so rare,
Your mums at work, childminders black so no-one seems to care.
Montessori rules OK, in chaos sprogs run wild
And all must spare the rod and all must spoil the child.20
The classrooms filled child-centred rubbish floor to roof,
Pupils lounge or wildebeest from horn to hoof.
Girl teachers? On some course, their salaries for to earn,
Menopause, PMT well paid State cash is theirs to burn.
Their own babes read, mark, learn and inwardly digest 25
in private schools (so thats the deal!) For them they want the best!
State slogans line the walls and every classroom fill:
Wear condoms, cos year five must have The Pill.
Diversity, EQUALITY and anti-racist cant
At five years olds these Kommissars are not ashamed to rant.30
This year on year costs you and me near SIXTY BILLION POUNDS
And add to that the wasted brains, just rotting there in mounds.
Whoever had misfortunes curse, was born in Sceptred Isle,
Can kiss goodbye to lifes best chance, theyll miss them by a mile:
cos all the jobs from now on boys are going to the nobs,35
Who had the luck to learn abroad and werent taught to be yobs.
