Political correctness - political bigotry!

October 13th, 2005 | Category: Politics

Of recent days, Guido has been busy, either trying to deal with more “modernising” and interference in his usual line of work by the ill-informed and utterly incompetent, or dealing with the fallout among his staff from having careers cut short, put in reverse or simply curtailed. All of this driven by a desire in political and civil service circles to “diversify” and “equalise” the workforce in an essential public service. That is why he has had little time to look at what is happening on the blogosphere or to comment on many things happening around him. But here is something captured of a “chatroom” which was posted by one of his colleagues in response to a bunch of PC apologists trying to justify the former Trade Secretary’s having broken the law in appointing someone to a post she was less qualified to occupy than another candidate.

This is precisely the sort of problem that Guido is dealing with daily as more and more of his staff are turned down in Assessment Development Centres measuring their ability against nebulous Personal Qualities Assessment criteria which have no bearing whatever on their ability to do the job they are looking at or even occupy currently!

DWTC - I am looking at the bigger picture! I am very concerned (protesting not enough) about the direction society is taking under New Labour. I suspect a similar process was going on in Germany in the 1920s & 30s; and by the time people woke up – it was too late. That of course includes the Fire Service (in which I have served for over 31 years). Enforced cultural change is not the way to do it, but I knew that some of you would come out from under your rocks over this thread!

Houd – don’t you realise that IPDS is yet another process that’s been hijacked by the ruling elite? It has been set up to allow anyone they like into the service – which has been infiltrated and diluted by the gauleiters of New Labour. It has been introduced far too quickly as you have observed, but it is in danger of mutating into.something. The IPDS helix is in fact the downward spiral to oblivion! I predict that it will disappear within a couple of years…I do believe I may know more about it than most on this site.

Pawky – I suspected you were a woman – I could tell by the way you rant! I have worked with many women and people from ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities. I even have a friend who is a transsexual. So what? Do you happen to work for LFB? Y’see, therein lies the root of the malaise affecting the British Fire Service. LFB, led by Our Val, has been overly influential in the ‘modernisation’ programme, and thus has influenced the chancers, crooks, Guardianistas, paranoid women and failed lawyers who hold power in our country. We’ve been Londonised as well as New-Laboured! Rank to role and IPDS have their origins in the Capital. You wanted a definition of ‘PC’ – here it is:

Political correctness is when people say or do something which they know to be untrue or unnecessary; or when they do not say or do something (which they know to be true or necessary) as they are too afraid or embarrassed to be honest or commonsensical.

Political correctness is about trying to make up for past perceived inequalities by replacing meritocracy and equality of opportunity with equality of outcome through discrimination against people with the same physical qualities as those perceived to have been beneficiaries of other systems in the past.

Political correctness encourages offence to be taken where none is intended and is a serious threat to free speech. Despite being portrayed to be in the name of tolerance, political correctness is completely intolerant of anyone who does not act in a politically correct fashion.

Thanks to the Campaign Against Political Correctness for the above quote.

It’s allowed a powerful group of people to create solutions to problems that either don’t exist or don’t matter. Nice work if you can get it! The bubble will burst soon, so maybe it’s time to face reality…

The law is being abused to the point of farce by the people who set up and run these centres for one purpose only – to be able to justify their blatant discrimination on the grounds of gender and colour in order to meet meaningless targets and address what they perceive as “wrongs” from the past, by imposing discrimination now and in the future. Where does it end? In an apartheid society – precisely what Mr Phillips of the CRE has been sounding off against.

But that’s OK, after all, it’s only white males who are being disadvantaged by this!

This time in Southern Russia. Amoung their targets are schools and they have taken hostages…classy lot aren’t they? Godspeed to the Russian soldiers and the locals. Make sure they turn back the bunch of evil cretins. The Russians are truly on the front line of Islamist terrorism.

DLR new Stern?

October 13th, 2005 | Category: Amusements, Music

Well he certainly has the loud-mouth for it. CMU is reporting the following news.

US radio conglom Infinity is reportedly close to announcing that former Van Halen man David Lee Roth will take over the Howard Stern Show slot on their New York station. As previously reported, Infinity plan to put different presenters into the slot in different regions, rather than give one person the task of becoming the “new Howard Stern” all over America.

It be honest DLR is probably perfect for talk radio. He tends to talk a load of bollocks and is love with himself. Hopefully this will stop him from touring as his shows have become a wee bit sad. He has got the hair to replace Stern as well. I look forward to hearing from New Yorkers if he is any good at it.
