Keyboard perils
A Korean man has died of a heart attack after playing computer games in an internet cafe for more than 50 hours, news wire Reuters reports. I must say that I have just gotten through about a third of William Gibson’s cult book Neuromancer, the book that supposedly inspired many a hacker, gamer and cyberpunk. A few pages of this book makes me realise that I already spend waaaaay too much time in front of computers.

It was an odd feeling for David when his vid went back on-line. He was not accustomed to being out of touch, ever. Michaela felt a awkward as well. A tech dealer and a cyborg, children of the age of technology. Lost without it. Rob had been in the dog house for the same amount of time. He was always tinkering with David’s vid. He would try out some new kit on his home vid and get roundly scolded by Kiara for it. She seemed to be convinced that he would end up burning their flat and the entire building down with his vid rigging. So, off he would go to beta test on David’s machine.
“It is about time Rob,” said David remembering the chaos of the last few days.
Well done Discovery crew
Shame on the bungling bureaucrats at NASA who put them in harm’s way and not made sure the spaceship was in a proper shape to fly. Let’s hope this is a death knell to the bloated bureaucracy that is NASA. Its time for it to go. Of course, for more info on the Space Shuttle head over to Rand’s blog.
