Ex-Pantera man dead
I have posted the distressing news of the death of Dimebag Darrel and another member of the band Damageplan at a gig in Ohio. My post on BC has links to several sources of news on the matter and I shall updating it when more is found.
Michele, a fan, has posted her thoughts on the unfortunate events.
I am just glad the cretin who did this is dead. Kudos to copper who shot the guy for his quick reaction.

My former fiance’introduced me to Pantera. He even bought a video tape of what goes on behind the music and the wild times they had. It makes me sick to my stomach to know that there are people our there like that. Why would he do that if he liked Dimebag so much-just because he decided to create something new? This isn’t about me, but I’ll be honest, it does bring back many memories of Jarod R., my ex. We split because he was very psychotic-mentally ill and I did not know it until we were almost married. Cemetary Gates is what comes to mind with all of this. Perhaps, this man too was out of his mind and didn’t realize what he was doing. Believe me I know what it’s like to be around someone like that. I could write a book on what happened to me. As sad as I have been the last two years after my break up, I am grateful to Jarod for leaving me with the newness of Dimebag and Pantera. I was looking foward to the new band. My heart goes out to all his family, friends, and fans. Just remember all who read this- I KNOW without a doubt he is in a great place rocking on! He’s not dead-just moving on to a better place. I wish I could wash away all the suffering people are feeling now. I do believe in love-all kinds and that is what this world needs more of, so things like this wil happen less. I bet wherever he is he would agree, so if you can remember to tell those close you love them, and give a stranger a smile or a helping hand because there is a reason we are all here and that to me is in our own way to make the world a better place. Sorry just wanted to say on my posting it was people out there-not people our there. There’s no place to edit.
PS Hey, I know there is a lot of rage going on now. Why not use that energy for good? I bet that is what Dimebag is feeling now, wherever great place he has moved on to. I say this because I have heard of many people who have died and came back to tell about it. One in particuliar from a book “Saved by the light” tells of his journey, and he says that we are here to love and it is the little everyday positive things we do that make a difference in this world. There are hundred’s of thousands of people from all over the world who tell the same stories of crossing over and comming back who have never met. I’m not preaching-please don’t take it that way. I just want to share what is in my heart and maybe make something positive come from such a tragedy.

Its all, very sad and the repurcusions will not be clear for quite a while. Just maybe this might encourage band-members to keep quiet in the press when their band breaks up. You never know when some nut-job might take words and put them into action.
