Asghar Bukhari, the chief executive of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, UK, (MPACUK) may be offended by Will Cummins’s allegation of extremism (letter, October 24), but a glance at the organisation’s website reveals a disturbing array of anti-Jewish rhetoric.For example, its description of The Jewish Chronicle reporting that MPACUK speakers addressed the Liberal Democrat Party Conference is headed “Black Spider – Jewish Chronicle Monitors MPACUK!” and adds: “These Zionists always make sure they are one step ahead”.
Other stories on the website include: “Bush and Kerry both Zionists”; “Power of Jewish Zionists in America”; “Israeli espionage at the Pentagon”. There is also an accusation that “Tony Blair and the British Parliament” are frightened into silence by unnamed “powerful Jewish Zionist media barons”.
Maybe Will Cummins is wrong, and the MPACUK are indeed moderates. I hope I never come across any extremists.
