300 years on, John Locke still matters
Today is the 300th anniversary of the death of John Locke, a man whose writings were hugely influential with America’s founding fathers. Whether it is his Treatise on Government or various essays on religious toleration and liberal education, he was a giant of the classical liberal tradition. He was also proof of what a fecund period the late 17th Century was in terms of ideas, science, and politics.
A great man. Hoist your favourite beverage to his memory.
