Pro-war songs
A journalist friend of mine wants to know if there are any (good?!) pro-war and/or pro-establishment songs, especially well-known ones.
Suggestions will be very gratefully accepted.
The loony left seem to have monopolised the term ‘Peace’. They can’t also monopolise music.

Any National Anthem? Also huge swathes of Nashville’s output post-9/11 (see Toby Keith’s “Courtesy Of The Red White And Blue [The Angry American]”); “Ballad Of The Green Berets” (a number one in the US in about 1966 I think); lots of Irving Berlin stuff; many hymns (“All Things Bright And Beautiful” provides theological justification for socio-economic inequality).
In fact, the belief that the music industry is inherently left-wing is as daft as the idea that there are no right-wingers in Hollywood. For every Tim Robbins or Sean Penn there’s a Charlton Heston, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis, Kelsey Grammer, Vincent Gallo, James Woods, Tom Selleck…
In fact, the Right’s paranoid contention that the entertainment industry is out to get them is just evidence of Mikhail Gorbachev’s warning to Bush Sr. after the demolition of the Soviet Union. “Mr President, we are depriving you of an enemy.” The Right has been thrashing around trying to fins a bogeyman as scary as Communism every since. Marilyn Manson was a bit of a soft target, but with “Terrorism” they might have succeeded.

dont listen to these morons. there are a few good songs out there as listed. also try darrel worley’s “have you forgotten”... it always reminds me that too many of us have. our enemies can not be appeased, they even hate our existence. they wont stop, so we wont stop. you all should thank your stars that there are people like me out there to protect you. and no, i dont give a shit if you didnt ask me to do it… i still would because i recognize the need for it.
