The BBC, finding employment for Liberals unemployable in the real world.

Category: Politics

The BBCs independent political editor, Andrew Marr, mused today on Start the week. We know American Radio as Right wing, shock jock, what happened?

No, Andrew, most independent, non-state owned talk-radio is right wing, because thats what most people want. Law and order, immigration control, low taxes, and other Socialist nightmares. This may come as shock to Socialists, particularly those cloistered in a nether world of 60s clichs, but the rest of us are quite able to cope with alternative views.

Mrs Buckhannon agreed in Radio 4. Word in your ear. Right wing views are simpler, she explained thats why theyre popular on American talk-radio. Words fail me.

BBC1 News got to the point, when discussing a Senate vote on the Sudan. Will the US make Sudan an issue it pondered and therefore distract attention from Iraq. Those dastardly Americans, even when they do something good, it’s actually of evil intent.

Sure, this is the kind of laughable, conspiratorial nonsense the Socialist Worker was created for. But presented in an upper class accent on the BBC, it almost starts to make sense.

It is the first lesson of any progandist – you deride any other media outlet that disagrees with your point of view, not by attacking it directly, but by suggesting that maybe they haven’t got a full bag of marbles. This is the problem with the 60’s liberal; generation – they haven’t got a handle on reality and think themselves so intellectually superior that anyone who disagrees with them must be mentally deficient. Sadly, it is the depth of their own ignorance which remains unfathomed.
