Happy to Help

May 12th, 2004 | Category: Blog gos

Alan wrote on Command Post last night:

We were shocked by the evil we’ve seen recently. Our response is to help strengthen something that is good: We’re trying to raise $10,000 in three days to send a family of 13 special needs children to college. Go here to read more and to strengthen something good.

Please read Alan’s whole post. The point is this: we can react to bad by doing good and that good does not necessarily have to be directly related to the bad.

This is a non-partisan, non-political charity. We are doing this because sometimes good things need to be done. I call it karma; you call it what you will.

I am not asking for a donation from any of you, I am just asking that you link this, spread the word, and spread the good karma around.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes the news leaves me feeling helpless. So let’s do where we can, what we can to make this world a better place.

I’ll end the schmaltz here. Thank you in advance for your help.

Morals are all relative aren’t they?

May 12th, 2004 | Category: Political Correctness

I just sent this to Daily Politics after an interview with a Muslim leader about the recent events in Iraq. This is what I sent to the program.

I noticed the Muslim gentleman just interviewed complained about the humiliation of Muslims at the prison. I also notice the total lack of condemnation of the beheading of the American.

It may offend Muslims to see their folk degraded, but I can tell you it incenses Americans and any decent human-being to see a man executed on tape.

Its been a week for moral relativist cretins. Murray over at Silent Running has a a troll that has repeatedly called him a Nazi and fascist. Murray has published his email exchange with this cretin to prove his case.

Of course, I have my own oik after me, over at Blogcritics in the form of the odious leftist Mac Diva. She is notorious for “exposing” someone as a racist if one disagrees with her.

Of course this sort of behaviour is not surprising when you have media outlets allowing terrorists to excuse themselves from their behaviour, not matter how bad, if they mention the right phrases. (occupation, Palestine etc) This execution has absolutely nothing to do with the events at the prison. It has everything to do with barbarous Islamists who do not recognise civilised behaviour. There is no excuse for this beheading… Mike has the pictures, the media is too cowardly to show you.

Update; In case you didn’t realise it, Berg was Jewish. One more reason why claiming this execution was caused by the prison photos is patently absurd.

Fiction Romance

something strange is happening to me

i dont know what these shivers mean to you

is this fiction romance getting hold
the buzzcocks

At long last, the 2003 (what, it takes 4 months to do the voting?) Worst Romance Novel Covers have been announced:

blaze.jpg

Nana had some hilarious things to say about several of the contenders, and I laughed out loud at her assessment of this one: “My choice, Flavor of the Month, brings me absolutely no joy and no small degree of the willies. I don’t want to know what’s on his face. I don’t want to know what it is, I don’t want to know how it got there, I don’t want to know what it tastes like, and I don’t want to know why he’s enjoying this so much. It’s as if someone mistook him for the underside of a middle school desk. All copies of this cover should be destroyed, and those of us who have seen it should undertake to repress it as quickly and thoroughly as possible.”
