German Cannibal jailed
He has gotten 8.5 years and will probably be out in 4 with good behaviour. Rather than being charged with 1st degree murder, he has gotten off with the lesser charge of manslaughter. Those of us fascinated by this case will get to read more about it, as he is planning to write a book while in prison. I am sure this case will continue to attract interest for years to come. It certainly caused quite a bit of interest and controversy all over the world…especially in the blogosphere.
Update: The sentence has been appealed, but the results of cooking and then eating another person are still quite beyond understanding, although apparently the killer did follow EU dictats to ensure not to serve the meat rare.

What are the new songs about?
Paul said the new disc will be fantastic! The album is about love. “Ohne dich” will be on it! Another song, which is called “Nein” at the moment, is about this “Cannible is looking for someone to eat up” story (In Germany, some man found another man through the internet who actually wanted to be eaten, and did so with a camera running), which Till thought was so great that he made a song from it. This one seems to be a real firecracker on the record. Paul thinks the song won’t keep the name “Nein”, but rather something like “Schlachter” (“Butcher”) or “Der Metzger” (“The slaughterman”).
PS ease up on the ‘gottens’! It sounds brutal to delicate British ears. My English graduate girlfriend thinks it was probably common in Britain in the 18th century but later went out of use here but was kept in use in the colonies.
In the US I am sure he would have got the death penalty. Wonder what he would’ve ordered as his final meal . . .
