Millenium Dome of Doom?
London Eye reports:
The curse of the Millennium Dome has struck again. Tonight’s New Year’s Eve party at Greenwich’s infamous white elephant has been unceremoniously – and very quietly – cancelled.
It was billed as the “Grand Finale” for the Winter Wonderland, a theme park that has been running inside the Dome throughout December.
According to its organisers, the event was scrapped just before Christmas because of the threat of industrial action on London Underground.
But yesterday, the Dome’s internet site wrongly proclaimed: “Tickets are on sale now for an event featuring live music, a breathtaking pyrotechnic display at midnight, a disco and a comedy area.”
I am just hoping someone will take my suggestion and do one last Dome spectacular. Fill the white elephant with explosives and blow it up with extreme fan-fare.
