King of the Blogs entry

Category: Blog gos

Dodgeblogium, in our infinite wisdom, have decided to attempt to usurp the King of the Blogs crown from Vigilance Matters. We, at Dodgeblogium, are a very mercenary and darwinian lot, so this battle for supremacy is right up our alley.

This blog would a wonderful way for any of those blogs that are judging this event to get notice. Depending on which method one uses to determine hits, we have gotten over 8,000 hits a day since we have moved hosts to Kathy Kinsley’s [of OTTH fame] hosting services. Even during this most quiet of times we are getting nearly 3,500 hits a day.

The judges for this week’s competion are a rather broad range. They are from both sides of the pond, secular to religious, and rather active to relatively passive. First we have a Christian Psychiatriast in the form of Adrian. Not only is he a frequent poster, but he is a preacher in his spare time. Next up we have Bad Money, a blog that specialises in publishing money graffiti as well as other bits of monetary humour. The blog has a light motif and is the kind one hits when one needs a bit of a laugh.

Another judge is Evangelical Outpost, which, as one can imagine from the name, is a religious one. The blog’s lay-out is a good clean one, and it does not solely concentrate on religion. As with many a good blog, there seems to be a rather good variety of content to keep one interested. The writings on Paris Hilton are particularly amusing. The judge with the shortest addy is Practical Penumbra, which is most clever if one is trying to remember it. Your host is Susie, who, like I, seems to be down with the flu; the site has an easy flowing style of writing and is most amusing. A light blog, which is the perfect antidote to all the uber-serious blogs we read. Guaranteed to put a smile on the face of even the most cynical surfer.

Rick’s Cafe has a new home and a rather airy and spacious layout. Rick is a man of few words who writes short pithy entries that get to the point. He does seem to be a poker-obsessive, but has a rather nice neon gif to flog his site on your blog. Last but certainly not least is Southern Musings, which gets bonus points for its clear use of a Mac as well as the awesome iPod. As one can tell from the name it’s a blog with eminates from the South of the US, more specifically, Alabama. Her writing style is flowing and unpretentious, conveying an honesty and purpose that is reassuring.

Then there is the host of King of the Blogs, Patriot Paradox. In keeping with the judges of this event, the blog is laid out (although a bit garish for Christmas) rather nicely and reads well. Obvious quickly is the fact that Nick is a rather religious chap and, I daresay, a fan on LOTR as well. He is a leading player in the Blogdom of God and has wonderful plans for the organisation.

I think it unnecessary to explain why we are better suited than the other blogs in the competition. Bloggers want hits and we have plenty. We are best positioned to get the judges blogs out there to an international audience. Our readers and contributors cover the world, from the US to the British Isles (including Northern Ireland) to New Zealand.

Herewith lyeth our case!
