“Two North Carolina men have been indicted in what prosecutors said are the nation’s first felony charges related to unsolicited e-mail. The men are accused of violating Virginia’s junk e-mail law by sending thousands of e-mail pitches for investments, software and other products. Jeremy Jaynes, 29, and Richard Rutowski each face four felony counts of transmission of unsolicited bulk electronic mail, Virginia Attorney General Jerry Kilgore said yesterday.” (12/12/03)
